Le Hoang Long (32 years old, from Hai Phong) previously worked as a manager for several Vietnamese artists, and also often worked as a manager for Korean artists when they were active in Vietnam. From this position, Long led prostitutes who have a reputation in showbiz for giants in Vietnam.

At today's hearing, although the defendant's family hired two lawyers, both lawyers were absent today despite being duly sent to trial by the court. Faced with this situation, representatives of VKS and the Labor Council said that the two lawyers were absent without a good reason, so the trial continued.

According to the prosecution, around 1:30 a.m. on August 25, 2022, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with the City Police. HCMC checked and caught 2 couples buying and selling sex at 2 rooms of a luxury hotel on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street (Ben Nghe ward, District 1).

Through quick exploitation, the police determined that Le Hoang Long was the broker of 2 quite famous beauties in Vietnamese showbiz, T.H and T.T for two sex buyers. The purchase price of sex offered by Long was 15,000 USD / time, equivalent to the amount of 360 million VND.

At the police office, Le Hoang Long sincerely confessed that, after the prostitution was completed, he would pay the two beauties T.H and T.T in the amount of 7,500 USD each, the rest of the defendant appropriated and spent personally.

At the court hearing this morning, Long testified that some time ago, through social media, there were two guests wishing to buy sex from celebrities in the field of actors and models. Therefore, the accused brokered T.H. and T.T. for them. The defendant expressed remorse for what he had done and asked the council to consider mitigating the punishment.

Considering that the defendant's acts have infringed on public order, violated social morals, and adversely affected social order, it should be dealt with seriously. Therefore, after consideration, the Labor Council decided to sentence defendant Le Hoang Long to 5 years and 6 months in prison.

About 1 year ago, on September 7, the Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security said that it had issued a decision to prosecute the accused, an arrest warrant for Le Hoang Long for "Prostitution brokering".

It is known that in July 2020, the Criminal Police Department busted a high-class prostitution ring led by Luc Trieu Vy (29 years old, from Da Nang). In the process of fighting to expand this case, the investigating agency learned about Le Hoang Long and suspected Long of brokering prostitution.

As of August 25, 2022, the force of the Criminal Police Department and the City Police. HCMC raided a luxury hotel in District 1, caught 2 couples buying and selling sex.

After agreeing to buy sex at $15,000 each, Long sent the two girls to a high-end hotel in District 1 to "serve" guests, when police found out.

Working with the investigating agency, Le Hoang Long testified that if this case goes through, he will pay 120 million VND for 2 long legs of prostitution. The remaining amount is nearly 600 million VND, Long benefited.

From a legal perspective, lawyer Truong Quoc Hoe (Hanoi Bar Association) told reporter Dan Viet as follows: If proven guilty, depending on the circumstances of the case, the value of illicit profits that prostitution brokers - typically "pimp" Le Hoang Long above can face a penalty of 7 to 15 years in prison (clause 2 Article 328).

Commenting further on the name that "pimp" Le Hoang Long was prosecuted, lawyer Hoe said, as well as the crime of containing prostitution, the crime of brokering prostitution infringes on social morality, traditions and fine customs of the nation, to a healthy civilized lifestyle, cultural life, etc social policing order.

A broker only needs to perform one of the two acts of "enticement" or "guidance" to satisfy the conduct of the crime of soliciting prostitution, not obligation to perform both. The act of brokering prostitution is often associated with making ill-gotten gains from such brokering.

The offender who brokers prostitution to commit his or her acts is intentional, i.e. the offender knows well about enticing or leading the sex buyer or sex worker to carry out the purchase or sale of sex.
