Because of difficult family circumstances, from a young age, H'hen Niê had to help her parents with many tasks from carrying water, mowing grass, herding buffaloes, planting rice, picking coffee... H'hen Niê almost had to drop out of high school. Even at the age of 14, she was forced to marry. When she was just crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, she revealed that she used to borrow clothes for an exam.

After 3 years of coronation (around 2020), when the economy was somewhat more stable, H'hen Nie used 2.5 billion dong of accumulated money to repair a level 4 house for her parents in Dak Lak.

For herself, after many years, she is still living in a rented house. H'Hen Nie said: "Buying a house in Ho Chi Minh City is not my top priority. Because I will return to my hometown from time to time with my family. Plus, because of my job, I travel a lot so I don't have to worry about this. As for the car, I already bought it."

In 2018, H'Hen Nie represented Vietnam to participate in the Miss Universe contest and excelled in the Top 5 finalists. She is also the first Vietnamese representative to win the title of Timeless Beauty - Timeless Beauty 2018, and also entered the Top 10 Miss of Miss 2018.
