Serious accident on Da Nang - Quang Nam highway, 13 people were hospitalized in emergency

On the morning of December 9-12, the information about the catastrophic traffic accident that occurred at dawn on the same day on the Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway (in Tam Xuan commune, Da Nang city) shocked the public.

The 16-seater bus carrying all relatives in a family, after organizing a wedding in Lam Dong, was on the way back to his hometown when it suddenly met with an accident.

🚗 The fateful collision at dawn

At about 4:12 a.m. on December 9, at Km71 200 Da Nang - Quang Ngai highway, a serious collision occurred between a 16-seater bus BKS 29B-081.62 and a tractor BKS 15C-360.35 pulling a trailer BKS 15R-149.06, driven by driver Bui Manh Thang (SN 1982, residing in Hai Phong city).

The initial consequences were extremely tragic: 3 people on the bus died on the spot.

According to relatives, the whole family of 13 people traveled in this car. They have just finished organizing a wedding for their son (groom) in Lam Dong's hometown. Previously, the bride's wedding was held in Ninh Binh. All passengers are biological relatives, including the bride and groom. Worth mentioning, the driver of the 16-seater bus is also a relative of the bride and works as a service car driver in the countryside.

An uncle of the shocked bride recounted that when the accident occurred, he was sleeping when he heard a loud and shrill explosion. When he woke up, he found out that he had been in an accident. He said his wife was also in the car and was very worried about her health.

💖 The bride and groom were lucky to escape

Among the victims who were taken to the emergency room at Quang Nam General Hospital, there was the bride Vu Thi Dong (born 2002, from Ninh Binh) and the groom Hoang Van Trung (born 2002, from Lam Dong). Both were lucky to escape the scythe of death.

The bride Vu Thi Dong was diagnosed with a crush on the shoulder – left chest, and the groom Hoang Van Trung was hit with a right pelvis. Both said they were sitting in the middle row and were fast asleep when the accident occurred, so they didn't know anything until the incident was over. The image of the couple being treated side by side at the hospital makes many people sad and sympathetic to the unfortunate start of married life.

🏥 Seriously injured victim and identity of the deceased

By the morning of the same day, Quang Nam General Hospital had received 9 patients from the accident. In which, 1 person was slightly injured, 8 people were seriously injured, and 1 person died at the hospital, Tran Thi Vinh (51 years old, from Ninh Binh), with a diagnosis of multiple injuries due to accidents: traumatic brain injury, cervical spine injury, vertebral fracture, hemorrhage/pneumothorax and spleen injury, kidney.

Other victims are being treated intensively, most of them with severe trauma to the brain, maxillofacial bones, chest, and bones:

Vu Still Trinh (54 years old): Multiple injuries, traumatic brain injury, complex fractures of both jawbones, crushed lungs on both sides (transferred to maxillofacial surgery). Tran Thi Xuan (48 years old): Traumatic brain injury. Pham Van Kieu (39 years old - driver): Multiple injuries, traumatic brain injury, head fracture on the tibia, foreign body in the left eye. Hoang Thi Thuy (39 years old): Fracture of the maxillofacial bone. Nguyen Van Hanh (55 years old): Splenic injury, broken ribs.

Immediately after the accident, representatives of the Da Nang City Military Command and leaders of Tam Ky Ward (Da Nang City) were present at Quang Nam General Hospital to visit, encourage the victims and share the loss with their families.

Currently, the functional forces are still urgently contacting relatives in the countryside to verify the identity of the 3 victims who died at the scene, and at the same time conduct an investigation and clarify the specific cause of this tragic accident.
