At the temporary funeral home in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City, the atmosphere of mourning prevailed when families and neighbors saw off the four victims in the fire at the noodle shop that occurred at dawn on December 5 on Tran Hung Dao Street, Ho Chi Minh City. HCM.
It is known that among the victims are 3 mothers and daughters, Ms. D.T.K.H. (born 1985), two young children, D.K.L. (born 2018) and H.N.K. (born 2023). The fire broke out at around 4 a.m., burning down the entire kitchen area and spreading quickly to the upper floors, preventing the victims from escaping in time.
The funeral took place in silence, mixed with the choking cries of relatives. Ms. H.'s brother is still shocked when he remembers the moment he received the bad news. "At first, I only heard that there was a fire and my parents were going to the emergency room, I didn't know the specific situation. At about 8 a.m., my brother called from Dak Nong to inform him that his sister and grandchildren had died. I heard it and collapsed, then hurriedly took the car to get off right away," Mr. Lam shared in a choked voice.
According to Mr. Lam, Ms. H. is a person who lives emotionally, gets along well with her brothers and loves her children dearly. Her small family is not well-off but always warm. Therefore, the fact that all 3 mothers and children passed away in just one night made the pain multiply. "He loves his two little ones very much, he always goes back to his hometown and hugs him to his grandmother's house to play. Recently, I also called back to ask my mother what she liked to send home at the end of the year," Mr. Lam said chokingly.
The moment made viewers cry when witnessing the scene of Ms. H.'s boyfriend collapsing next to the photo of her relatives, speechless. According to shared, although he and the victim have not registered their marriage, they have lived together for many years and have a child together. The sudden death of her sister and two children made him almost devastated. Regarding the aftermath plan, he wished to take her and her children to his hometown for burial. However, Ms. H.'s family is still considering and discussing to make the most appropriate decision between the two parties.
At the same time, authorities continue to investigate the cause and assess the damage of the fire. According to initial information, the fire originated from the kitchen area of about 20 square meters on the 1st floor, then quickly spread to the upper floors of the four-storey house with a total construction area of more than 350 square meters. The time of the fire occurred at dawn, when everyone was sleeping, making it extremely difficult to detect and escape.
In addition, the structure of the house is also a factor hindering rescuers. The house has only one exit to the façade, but is covered by a solid roller shutter. When the fire broke out, the roller shutters were not opened in time from the inside. On the side of the fire brigade, it also took longer to break the rolling door to access the inside. While the authorities continue to investigate the cause, the family is still suppressing the pain to take care of the aftermath of the four unfortunate victims.
According to witnesses who live near the scene, when they discovered the fire, people tried to approach from the outside, break the rolling door and spray a mini fire extinguisher through the door gap but to no avail. Some victims were lucky to escape, but 3 unfortunate mothers and children and a victim who was a friend of this woman did not survive.
