Many people not only left comments expressing patriotism and pride but also enthusiastically invited each other to participate, turning it into a phenomenon in the digital space.

On social media platforms, people in many provinces and cities across the country enthusiastically responded to this trend as a small and meaningful action to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).

It is known that the idea of painting the national flag on the roof originated from Le Quang Vu (29 years old) in Vinh Phuc at the end of July. He said: "At first, I just wanted to paint a big flag on the roof to create a highlight, but unexpectedly, after the clip was posted on social networks, it received more than 2 million views and a lot of compliments. When I saw everyone's enthusiastic response, I was very happy because the spirit of patriotism was spread to all parts of the country."

To draw a beautiful, balanced and proportional national flag, Vu had prepared carefully in advance by using a flycam to take photos. Then, he aligned the drawing so that it was even and beautiful and started painting. This young man also shared that when drawing a flag on the roof, everyone should be careful to ensure safety.

After only a short time, all social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok were flooded with images of the bright red national flag appearing on rooftops in rural areas stretching along the S-shaped strip of land, stirring up emotions and pride among viewers, causing this trend to spread even further. Even because of unfavorable conditions for painting the national flag on rooftops, many people followed the "trend" by painting it on doors, on hats...

What netizens always remind each other when responding to the trend of "turning every roof into a national flag" is to pay attention to safety when climbing on the roof, only do it on sunny days, avoid rainy days, the roof can be covered with moss, making it slippery and dangerous.

How to draw the national flag correctly?

The proportions for drawing the national flag are stipulated in Article 13 of the 2013 Constitution, which stipulates the national flag, national emblem, national anthem, national day and capital of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Therefore, when drawing the national flag following the trend of "drawing the national flag on the roof", it is necessary to pay attention to drawing a rectangle, the width is two-thirds of the length, the background is red, in the middle is a five-pointed yellow star.

As for the colors, the background is bright red and the five-pointed yellow star in the middle is bright yellow.
