Artist Tai Linh's real name is Huynh Thi Phu Nhuan, born in 1956 in Saigon, in a family of 7 siblings, with 3 pursuing art.

Her sister is the female artist Tai Luong from the Saigon 3 Cai Luong troupe. Tai Luong and her husband, artist Minh Tam, settled in France in May 1981.

She also has a younger brother named Huynh Trung Duc, stage name is Chi Linh. Chi Linh's wife is female artist Van Ha, daughter of composer Van An.
