Thanh Nga - Ngoc Lan: 2 short-lived beauties, still as beautiful as a fairy after leaving

The theater industry and the public have had to receive many regretful and painful departures from famous and talented artists. Including two music legends Thanh Nga and Ngoc Lan.

Both are beautiful beauties, full of talent, but suffered from a tragic fate and died unexpectedly when their careers were still at their peak, at a young age, making the public extremely pitiful.

And so, the funerals of Thanh Nga and Ngoc Lan were also sent off by many people, causing a stir for a while.

On Thanh Nga's day of mourning, thousands of people came to see them off

Thanh Nga died from a sudden assassination in late 1978, at the age of 36.

On that day, no one expected, Thanh Nga's death caused a stir not only in the country but also abroad, where Vietnamese expatriates lived.

They don't believe Thanh Nga's death is true, they have to go to the place and witness it with their own eyes. Even the leaders of the department wanted to visit Thanh Nga.

Many people across the country, from the North, the Central to the South, the West, when they heard that Thanh Nga had passed away, they flocked to Saigon to pay their last respects.

Because of the large number of people, they had to line up in 4 rows, extending from the gate at Tran Hung Dao Street to the end to Tu Xuong Street, continuously for 3 days and nights.

Despite such a long time, everyone still patiently waited for their turn to visit Thanh Nga. Initially, each person held in his hand a pre-burned incense given to him by the organizers. Thanh Nga's niece recounted:

"I still remember vividly the picture at the place where Ba's mother was buried. There was a very large front yard, people lined up to cross the vast yard. People kept walking in succession, no no. Who is allowed to stop because just stopping one step is a traffic jam.

At first, people still put incense sticks, but later they just walked over, looked down and walked over.

I heard many grandparents, uncles and aunts recount that they had already passed through Mother's coffin, but deliberately went far away to turn around and go many more times. Everyone wants to see Ba's mother many more times, no one wants to go back.

In the evening, the place of burial was closed and no longer allowed to visit. Everyone slept outside the door to visit Ba's mother early the next morning.

Never in my life have I seen so many people come to visit. At that time, in Saigon, people were still sparse, not as crowded as now."

On the day of Thanh Nga's funeral, tens of thousands of artists and people were present at 81 Tran Quoc Thao Street, gathered on both sides to see off the artist's couple.

At the moment, many artists and audiences shed tears and mourned an artist who contributed to glorifying the country's reformed art.

The number of people who followed Thanh Nga's coffin to the final resting place at Artist Pagoda was so large that it was impossible to count them all. They stood and filled the whole road of Vo Thi Sau.

The funeral procession went all the way to Da Kao Street, but the number of people who followed had not left the burial place at the headquarters of the Culture and Arts Association. It can be estimated that tens of thousands of people have come to see Thanh Nga off.

On Dien Bien Phu Street, people stood overflowing on both sides of the road. All over the street, young and old were waiting to receive the hearse.

At the section of the road turning to the Artist Pagoda, people stood sealed, not allowing cars to enter. The police had to ask people to stand close to the car to pass, fearing that they would be late for the low-down time.

In front of the temple, people surrounded the gate, it was very difficult to bring in the coffin of artist Thanh Nga and his wife.

It is worth mentioning that even though Thanh Nga is in a coffin, she is still beautiful and radiant, making everyone surprised.

Ngoc Lan lies in the coffin like a princess

Unlike Thanh Nga, singer Ngoc Lan had to go through many years of pain due to illness before her death.

However, she is a closed person and does not reveal her health situation, so most of the audience did not know that Ngoc Lan was sick until the day she died, everyone was surprised.

Ngoc Lan died of scleroderma, a rare disease. Before her death, she was almost blind, could no longer see and her health deteriorated, causing her colleagues to mourn. She passed away in 2001, turning 45 years old.

Ngoc Lan's funeral was known as one of the largest funerals overseas at that time, gathering a large number of artists and spectators from all over the United States. Everyone wants to see the beautiful female singer's face for the last time.

Singer Thanh Lan was one of those present at Ngoc Lan's funeral, she recounted:

"Then the sad news also came, Ngoc Lan passed away, saying goodbye to all of us. That day, I also attended Ngoc Lan's funeral.

I sat in the funeral home, looking at Ngoc Lan's coffin and felt sorry. How many people passed by to see Ngoc Lan for the last time. I also went through the coffin and saw Ngoc Lan lying there, beautiful like a princess."
