Thanh Hoa dragon rickets, angry Nghe An dragon, beautiful Bac Giang dragon "hybrid West"
Over the past time, many localities have launched dragon mascots to welcome the Giap Thin New Year, among which there is no shortage of dragons that are considered to have a peculiar and controversial appearance.
In addition to the well-shaped, magnificent mascots, there is no shortage of localities that make people laugh with tears of humor and defiance about the image representing the 2024 armor of their province.
Dragon rickets in Thanh Hoa
Coming up to Lunar New Year Giap Thin 2024, at the campus of a business in Tien Trang commune, Quang Xuong district (Thanh Hoa), four dragon statues appear that are causing controversy.
For days, the social media community has been buzzing with images of four dragon statues with "strange" shapes at the amusement park of a business in Tien Trang commune, Quang Xuong district.
Mr. D.V.T., 40 years old, a resident of Tien Trang commune, said: "Local people are surprised by the four dragon statues from 5-6m long that are being completed in the locality, because the dragon statue is somewhat stunted, lacking majesty.
The tail of each dragon statue has a different shape, some statues resemble the tail of a pit fish, some statues are stunted."
"This year the economy has been tough so my dragon is just that fat," one person joked. Accordingly, although it is not clear whether it is completed or not, the dragon mascots 2024 in Tien Trang - Quang Xuong - Thanh Hoa are compared to the 'healthiest mascot of the year'.
Sulking dragons in Nghe An
Meanwhile, the image of two bonsai dragons in Nghe An is redecorated for the Lunar New Year Giap Thin in 2024, making many people comment that it seems that the dragon here is angry with something.
Two dragon-shaped pruned ornamental trees located on the sidewalk of Nguyen Sy Sach street, the intersection with Le Nin Avenue, Vinh city, Nghe An, are coconut trees (also known as small fruit trees).
In particular, the eyes and mouth of the dragon are shaped with white plastic sheets, giving the dragon an "angry" look, making many viewers laugh.
Mr. Phan Quoc Bao - Director of Vinh City Green Park Joint Stock Company - said that these two green dragons were made about 10 years ago, permanently placed here and every year are pruned and cared for by workers.
"Recently, on the occasion of Tet Giap Thin, we have let you decorate these two dragons to make them more eye-catching. The idea of how bad, beautiful or imaginary it is is for each person because the dragon is not real," Bao said.
"Hybrid Western" dragon in Bac Giang
Recently, the dragon mascot of Bac Giang province also officially joined the race. Accordingly, a series of photos of this local dragon mascot shared on social networks has received a lot of attention from the online community.
The dragon is painted in the main orange color and cute facial expressions. The dragon stands on a coin-shaped pedestal, dubbed a "preschool dragon" by netizens. Besides, many people argue that this mascot is "Western" because it has small wings, so it is not suitable.
Bui Van Quan (32), who made the dragon mascot in Bac Giang, said he named the statue the happy dragon. He hopes that whether adults or children look at this statue, they will feel cute and friendly.
The 4.5m tall dragon consists of a pedestal, weighing 10-12 tons, painted orange. The worker explained that he mixed red and yellow on the national flag to create orange for the mascot.
This mascot will be displayed at Mr. Quan's garden in Hung Son commune, Hiep Hoa district, Bac Giang province, welcoming free people to visit during the upcoming Lunar New Year days.
