Six years ago, the love story of bride Thu Sao and her younger groom Hoa Cuong consumed a lot of ink and ink in the press and media. Currently, "bride" Thu Sao has turned 68 years old, "groom" Hoa Cuong is 32 years old.
Being 36 years apart in age, their marriage makes many people curious.
Initially, after getting married, the couple lived in a house in Cao Bang City, selling coffee and running a spa business. After a series of scandals, the couple decided to live a more private life. They rarely go on social networks to share about their private lives.
6 months ago, Ms. Thu Sao made a bold decision. That means leaving Cao Bang and going to Hanoi to do business. "Previously, I did a lot of business in Hanoi. This time, my husband and I decided to come down here to rent space and open a store.
Because, every time I livestream, people who love me say they want me to come to Hanoi so they can have a chance to meet. Moreover, doing business here makes it easier to transport goods," Ms. Sao shared the reason for leaving her hometown to Hanoi.
This decision of hers was fully supported by her young husband. Mr. Cuong is ready to follow his wife to Hanoi to do business.
Ms. Sao and her husband signed a lease contract for business premises in Ba Dinh district for 3 years. Outside is a shampoo and skin care shop, inside is where she and her husband both live and livestream sales.
"Some people ask 'why do you still leave your hometown to work in the capital at this age?', 'why don't you rent a store for a year to try it out?'. I think further than that.
Now I just keep doing it gradually, in a few years the work will develop, if I don't have the strength to do it anymore, let Hoa Cuong do it," Ms. Sao shared.
Ms. Sao affirmed that she is a resourceful person and always likes to exercise and does not want to rest. Her perspective on life is "if you have strength, you still have to work".
Every day, Sao and her husband divide the work. When many customers come to wash their hair and beautify them, she and her husband do it together.
In her sales job, she is in charge of livestreaming product introductions, and her husband is in charge of closing orders and packing goods. Other technology-related tasks are mostly handled by Mr. Hoa Cuong.
"Since we got married, I started teaching Hoa Cuong how to wash her hair, how to do acupressure and skin care. Now, my husband sometimes does it better than me because he has good health and acupressure. Seriously, customers are very satisfied.
I have to say it again and again, I am lucky to have a husband who is hard-working, willing to learn and willing to accompany me in everything," Ms. Sao said.
Every month, Ms. Sao and her husband return to Cao Bang 1-2 times to make goods, then go to Hanoi to continue trading. The number of times you come back depends on whether you and your husband have a good deal or not.
Back in Cao Bang, she and her husband also worked together and rested together. The steps of processing and marinating the sausages are done by her because she has a special recipe. The remaining steps such as carrying the machines and drying the soup are done by Mr. Hoa Cuong.
"If it weren't for Hoa Cuong, I wouldn't be able to do so many things. He has good health, the hard work like carrying loads, staying up all night... are all done by him.
People keep saying that my husband depends on his wife to live, but that's not true. I'm the one who relies on my husband to get ahead," Ms. Sao confided.
Leaving Cao Bang for Hanoi to do business, Sao and her husband encountered many tragic situations. Ms. Sao said that when she first came here, many people came to the store out of curiosity to meet her and her husband.
Supported by many people, she "trades expensively".
"The first batch of goods, my husband and I prepared to sell for 1 month, but in less than a week it was sold out. The couple returned to Cao Bang to make goods. Up to now, my store still has many supporters. ", Ms. Sao shared.
There were also people who came to Ms. Sao's store to wash their hair, but named her husband as the waiter with the reason: "My husband is skillful and does deeper acupressure." At times like these, she and her husband happily entertain guests.
The small home in Hanoi of couple Thu Sao - Hoa Cuong is just over 20 square meters. This place is both a place to eat and sleep, as well as a place for her and her husband to livestream sales.
The space is small but everything is arranged neatly and clean. The image of a couple with different ages working and chatting makes the room more cozy.
Ms. Sao shared: "We work together and rest together. Mr. Cuong packs groceries while I cook and vice versa. The couple hangs around each other, and soon the day and month end."
The business helps her and her husband have a stable income and a fulfilling life. Occasionally, she invites her husband to go back to her hometown to visit her mother in Trong Con commune, Dong Khe district, Cao Bang province. A few months ago, her father-in-law passed away from illness.
"Previously in Cao Bang, my husband and I went home every week to visit my husband's parents. Now when we go to Hanoi to work, every time we return to Cao Bang we are in a hurry so we visit less often. But, I still encourage my husband to try to come back when Maybe, because my father passed away, my mother was alone at home," she said.
