Olympia 2024: 4 bright faces revealed, laurel wreath details attract attention

On the morning of October 13, the final round of the Road to Olympia 2024 officially took place. This was a dramatic competition between 4 contestants, representatives from 4 schools.

The list of candidates includes: Tran Trung Kien (student of Le Hong Phong High School, Phu Yen); Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh (student of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai); Vu Quang Phu Duc (student of Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted in Hue - Thua Thien Hue) and Nguyen Nguyen Phu (student of Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted).

The 24th Olympia champion will receive an 18K gold-plated laurel wreath and a scholarship to study abroad as usual. However, the value of the scholarship has not been announced at this time. Last year, the figure was $50,000.

After the intense first round, the contestant temporarily leading was Phu Duc with 75 points. Following him were 3 contestants Trung Kien, Nguyen Phu, Nhat Minh with 50, 45 and 15 points respectively.

A new point in the Final of the Road to Olympia 2024 is the appearance of an appraisal room for the advisory board. Here, the advisory board will have the best conditions to monitor, supervise and appraise the contestants' performances.

The 24th Road to Olympia Finals officially began with the song Youth Aspiration performed by singers Hoang Dung and Phuong My Chi.

Tran Trung Kien is the first contestant to enter the final round of Road to Olympia 2024 with a victory in the first quarter. Trung Kien is also the first contestant to bring Olympia television to Phu Yen.

The male student's achievements before coming to Duong Len Dinh Olympia were also extremely "top notch" when he was the valedictorian of the school and won second prize in the National Chemistry Olympiad.

Like Trung Kien, Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh - a student of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted (Gia Lai) - the winner of the 24th Olympia Quarter 2, was also the first person to bring the television bridge to Gia Lai province.

Nhat Minh was born and raised in a family where both his father and mother are teachers. Continuing that tradition of studiousness, from a young age, Minh has always been diligent and self-disciplined in his studies. Although he is good at almost all subjects, Nhat Minh's greatest passion is English.

Vu Quang Phu Duc (student of Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted in Hue, Thua Thien Hue) is the third person to have registered his name in the final round of Olympia 2024. In the third quarter round, the male student won 185 points. With his victory, following Minh Triet (contestant of the 23rd Olympia Final), Phu Duc has helped Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted in Hue have Olympia television for 2 consecutive years. In addition, this is also the 7th time Quoc Hoc School has welcomed the final round of the Road to Olympia.

After winning a thrilling victory in the 4th Quarter competition, Nguyen Nguyen Phu - a student of Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted is the last contestant to participate in the Olympia 2024 Final. It is known that the male student from Hanoi is the only contestant among the 4 climbers competing in the Final to possess all 3 laurel wreaths of Week - Month - Quarter.

Before the start of the competition, a close-up of the laurel wreath for the Olympia Champion was officially revealed. According to designer Do Van Tri, this year, he wants to bring the laurel wreath of the Road to Olympia 2024 back to its original olive branches, but with a more magnificent and splendid design, as a symbol of glory and victory.

The laurel wreath is completely hand-crafted, plated with 18K real gold, dedicated to the champion of the Road to Olympia 2024", designer Do Van Tri wrote.

This year, in addition to the main bridge at Vietnam Television, 4 live TV bridges of the Final are located at 4 symbolic locations of each province and city, including: Le Trung Kien Stadium - Phu Yen, Gia Lai - Dai Doan Ket Square - Gia Lai, Ngo Mon Square - Thua Thien - Hue and Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam - Hanoi.

Previously, Phu Yen chose Nghinh Phong Tower Square as the meeting point, however, due to heavy rain yesterday, preparations were difficult. To ensure the program went smoothly, the locality changed the location to Le Trung Kien Gymnasium. Notably, the gymnasium shares the same name with the male student representing Phu Yen province - Tran Trung Kien. From early morning, the atmosphere at the filming studio as well as the meeting points was extremely exciting.
