In 1990, artist Cong Ninh returned home with a Master of Arts degree in directing in Russia. Thoughts, a new horizon would open up, but he was... unemployed.

In the first film, he was invited to play the role of a motorbike taxi driver with 2 segments in "Life of a troubadour" by the late director Chau Hue. The night scene, running in the rain is very extreme, but the sand is very foamy, but Cong Ninh is happy to do the job.

Ignoring the face of a master of arts, Cong Ninh continued to receive a small role in the movie "Who goes down Van Ly" by director Le Hoang. In 1999, this film brought him the Best Actor award at the 12th Vietnam Film Festival. From these small roles, he was known and invited to more films.

Despite having a master's degree in directing from Russia, Cong Ninh was not trusted by anyone to edit the play. The first play he edited was for the Young Drama Troupe with a salary of 600,000 VND, while other directors made it for 5 million VND.
