Although she studied dance at the age of 15 and devoted her youth to dancing, it was not until she turned to cinema that the artist Ha Xuyen became known to the audience more. Just entering the profession, Ha Xuyen was fortunate to win the excellent actor award (awarded by the Vietnam Film Association) at the 8th Vietnam Film Festival with the role of Ha in the plastic feature film "Far and near"( directed by Huy Thanh).

After the female lead role in the movie Far and Near, she continued to shine in the heavyweight role Ngoc Mai - the wife of "boss" Tu Chung in Saigon Ranger. Impressive acting helped Ha Xuyen become a face many directors noticed and she also decided to stick with cinema for life.

Recalling the memories of the time of filming Saigon Rangers, Ha Xuyen confided: "The entire film crew came from the North to Saigon to make the film, for 3 years. Some people even came to Tet. If you can't come back to reunite with your family, someone else will postpone the wedding, whoever has a husband can definitely not have children. That's the director's order." Not only that, the difficulties overlap when the filmmaking conditions are not as modern as today, there are parts that have been filmed and printed, but are damaged by mold and have to go back to the beginning, so no one continued to be enthusiastic about the work.

It is known that in episode 3, the wedding between Tu Chung (Quang Thai) and Ngoc Mai (Ha Xuyen). In this scene, director Long Van asked her to wear thin pajamas to seduce Tu Chung, but Ha Xuyen vehemently objected because she believed that in the context of war full of pain and loss, above all, the soldier must overcome trivial desires in order to win, to defend the noble ideal.

Meritorious Artist Ha Xuyen shared: "I remember clearly that director Long Van called to Hanoi to meet the director of the feature film studio at that time, Hai Ninh, saying that Ha Xuyen was too stubborn to listen to the director.
