NS Quoc Tri received the first prize of South Korea's KBS, participating in VTV's 'blockbuster'?

Born in 1957, People's Artist Quoc Tri (real name Nguyen Van Tri) has had 40 years of artistic activities in the Military theater stage.

In the speech troupe of the General Department of Politics in 1973 - 1975, he participated in the Ho Chi Minh campaign with his first role as a carpenter soldier in the play Sister House. "This role has given me a love for the profession, attachment and a motivation to strive on the artistic path," People's Artist Quoc Tri said.

Remembering the memories of the smoky period, for him, the most arduous was probably 1977 - 1978 when he participated in the Tay Ninh campaign, serving in the Southwest border army. The role of Thuc in my play Company Commander left the most impression on himself. For two months in 1979, People's Artist Quoc Tri and his brothers and sisters traveled along the six northern border provinces to perform the play Night and Day.

He is the first foreigner to receive an awar.d from South Korea's KBS Drama Studio for the role of a Commando Soldier in the movie Lobster Huntin.g Season. Artist Quoc Tri shared, in this film, the color of the character has convinced the jury because of the image of a revolutionary soldier with high selflessness and nationalism. He had to shoot a five-minute monologue scene, without being prompted. It is a scene that requires the actor to have an inner vitality plus a good psychological development. Almost every actor is afraid of these scenes, but Quoc Tri succeeded in the second shoot.

He himself sees soldierish roles as his strength. People's Artist Quoc Tri also had a quite interesting sharing that recently, he likes to make comedic characters even though tragedy is his strength. The role of Mr. Can selling porridge in the movie Collective Citizens is a comedy that he shows that is loved by many audiences.

Quoc Tri said that the stage of life is very difficult to describe. For him, each role must come from the living capital of life, of real life. It must be contemplated in the life of the actor himself along with the selective observation of the artist in life. Knowledge is like a drawer, reading each script, I have to rummage through the drawer to find the good, bad, typical of the character, I have to feel it then to be able to have a real acting like life.

"Actors in the military will have certain rules. We must determine the responsibilities of an artist and soldier, a lifestyle that does not bother anyone, does not betray anyone, knows how to appreciate everyone, is ready to accept all hardships and lives in the middle of life without hesitation. All are reflected through the character, always defending and speaking for the working class in society," People's Artist Quoc Tri shared.

40 years in the profession, playing all roles in many aspects, but there are still roles that a talented artist like him finds difficult. Typically, the role of Ke Nin in the play Saints of the Saints (a Russian play). At this time, Quoc Tri had to act in a way that was true to the qualities of a Russian peasant, a country he had never set foot in.

Fortunately, since childhood, when he stepped into the theater, Russian literature for him has been a passion. Patterns of characters in Russian works form in the mind. Through Russian literary works, he saw a Russian society, Russian soldiers who were quite close to Vietnamese soldiers, sharing the same ideals and kindness. However, he is Asian, he must choose an acting style with psychological depth, behavior from actions, voices, and most importantly, the inner must be achieved. Only then can the viewer get close to the character.

In addition to the drama stage, many roles in Quoc Tri's films have made their mark with many audiences, from young to old. That's why when he arrived at the gate of the Military Theater, as soon as he asked Quoc Tri, a young man smiled and asked: "Quoc Tri sells porridge, right?"

He said that playing the villain is more difficult because he has to hate, collide, and penetrate reality while the nature of his life is not like that. Many people also asked Quoc Tri why not choose happy roles such as a giant, a director?

He said that if he has the intention and purpose to study and perform, those roles are not too difficult. However, Quoc Tri himself also found his body inappropriate. In addition to his work at the Military Theater, People's Artist Quoc Tri also spends time teaching university and television college transfer classes in the acting and directing departments.

In 1984, Quoc Tri won the Gold medal at the all-army professional performance as the ranger K'Ho in the play Silent City. In 1990, he won the Silver medal for the play Ten Orchids. Since 1992, Quoc Tri began to "encroach" into the film field and won the Best Actor Awar.d at the Vietnam Film Festival in 1999; the Best Actor awar.d at the 12th Vietnam Film Festival. He was awarded the title of Outstanding Artist in 2001. In particular, Quoc Tri is the only drama actor of the army among 74 artists who were considered for the title of People's Artist for the 7th time of the Ministry of Culture, Culture and Tourism in 2012.

Most recently, the male artist participated in the prime-time blockbuster movie on VTV "Space". The film "Space" is a special project produced by Vietnam Television in collaboration with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army. In order to clearly portray the image of Uncle Ho's army in each period, two contents of the past and present will be interwoven in the work.

The film is also a work aimed at the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day. In that sense, the leaders of Vietnam Television trusted and assigned Artist Nguyen Danh Dung and Mr. Nguyen Duc Hieu to be directors.
