Once loved through impressive roles, in addition to his handsome and pompous appearance, it seemed that Nguyen Huynh would have a developing career but his short fate made many people mourn.
Vietnamese screens have once resounded names such as Le Tuan Anh, Le Cong Tuan Anh, Thai San, Ly Hung,... In addition, in the 90s, actor Nguyen Huynh also received the attention of the audience. He was one of the first students of Ho Chi Minh City School of Theatre and Cinema. HCMC, same course as Ngoc Hiep, Diem Huong,.... Having had an impressive acting career, Nguyen Huynh lost everything because of the falls of his youth.
Nguyen Huynh was born in 1967 in Ben Tre, into a large family of siblings. Right from the day he was not famous, he made people around him rub because of his outstanding appearance. Thanks to this, he soon featured in TV series from the age of 21. Among the works he has participated in are Snake Life, The Hidden Moon, The Darkness of Love,...
Referring to him, people mention a handsome and pompous actor, Nguyen Huynh is considered a promising young star to continue the generation of stars of instant noodle movies. For Nguyen Huynh, right from the first days of entering Ho Chi Minh City film school. He was beloved by his friends for his gentle, even slightly shy personality.
In 1991, he graduated with the play Shrimp Season, which left the audience many beautiful marks. After graduation, he was noticed by many directors because of his gentle face, strong body, masculinity.. From those initial stepping stones, Nguyen Huynh entered cinema naturally.
One of Nguyen Huynh's memorable films is I Remember Or I Forgot, starring names like Hoang Hong Nhi and Le Cong Tuan Anh. In addition, Farewell to the Past is also a film that marks a major milestone in the actor's career. In the film, he plays the writer Truong, who has a complicated romantic relationship with an innocent girl named America, played by Truong Ngoc Anh.
Thanks to this film, the actor's name is increasingly loved by the audience, experts also give many compliments, especially people also call him the "screen lover" of Truong Ngoc Anh. However, instead of developing a flourishing artistic career, the actor's life has been entangled in many ups and downs.
Right from the early days of filming, Nguyen Huynh has been assigned many roles by directors who are prickly, dusty characters but turn towards good at the end of the film. Perhaps, it is the roles on the screen that have haunted the life of this talented actor.
The years were in "white matter", leaving at the age of 42
It can be said that Nguyen Huynh's life is like a play and he has played his role on the stage of his life. Just when his career was at its most ripe, he again let himself fall into the abyss.
Around 2000, during a trip to Hanoi, Nguyen Huynh let himself fall under the siege of things that should not be touched. Specifically, during a trip to a film festival in Hanoi, some fans invited him to drink. Once he was stunned, he got into the "white matter."
Once, then twice, he couldn't escape the labyrinth of ecstasy that the mesmerizing smoke brought. Then the movies he starred in could barely cover the cost of that toxic substance. The assets inherent throughout a filmmaking journey are gradually converted into white matter. Falling into the path of corruption, he gradually loses himself and moves away from the screen light.
Watching Nguyen Huynh fall, immerse his youth in bad pleasures and lose his career, director Nguyen Huu Phan once regretfully said about the actor: "When I first met him, I found Nguyen Huynh promising. He's elegant, pompous, amateur. To this day, I still can't explain why, somehow, life pushed him down such an unhappy path!"
The thirst for drugs was thicker, so did the movies he starred in. Nguyen Huynh has distanced himself from the audience, away from art like that, as grim as the tragedies he has shown in film. At times when he woke up, he cried like a baby. Perhaps those were the rare times he recalled his early dream. At that time, Nguyen Huynh dreamed of making some films about his hometown of Ben Tre.
Nguyen Huynh, however, tried to change himself after foolish times. The actor had his family by his side and was encouraged, so Nguyen Huynh was determined to go to a center in Binh Phuoc for treatment. Here the actor actively trained, participated in the art team, he also composed and mobilized people to practice. By 2006, he graduated from school and returned to his daily life.
After the stumbles, Nguyen Huynh is still fortunate to be welcomed by the audience and colleagues with open arms. The actor received the love of the artists and gradually returned to the screen with a few projects such as: Love Story, Heartbeat, Rose Returns You,...
It seemed that he could remake his life, however, it was not long before Nguyen Huynh returned to his old ways. His previous efforts went up in smoke when the actor reunited with the people who had lived with him in the camp.
When he meets an old friend in prison every day, he shakes his face and thinks you have broken with the path of sin. He hadn't expected that the cigarette you offered that day was that substance. In 2007, the actor entered rehab for the second time.
Two visits to the camp over a long period of time, almost drained the youth of Nguyen Huynh, the one-time "cult" actor of the set. Also during his time there, he received devastating news because his 6-year-old son died of a serious illness. Tragically, he couldn't help but die in 2009.
His funeral was attended by close colleagues and friends such as Truong Ngoc Anh, Quyen Linh, director Nguyen Phuong Dien... Talking about his one-time "screen lover", Truong Ngoc Anh once confided: "Nguyen Huynh had to pay a heavy price for his mistakes. He's talented, he's enthusiastic. Just one mistake, his life took a completely different turn. I was glad to hear that he had recovered, had fallen in love, was preparing to act in films, stage again...
Yet, just as everyone believed he could return, Nguyen Huynh left. His funeral was very empty. Perhaps due to the hasty funeral, no one arrived in time. I rushed over in time to see you off," the actress once emotionally shared.
Nguyen Huynh's earthly life ended at the age of 42 after many ups and downs, now people can only remember him - a handsome, gentlemanly actor through the roles of the past.
