Looking at the man's muscular body, no one thought he was 70 years old. In order to look as young as a young man in his twenties, this person has maintained training for many years.
The image of Mr. Zou Heping (70 years old, living in Chongqing city, China) amazed everyone with his 6-pack abs and physical strength not inferior to the boys in their twenties.
"My life lies in running and the most important thing is to exercise, stay fit, develop a healthy lifestyle," Zou told the South China Morning Post last week.
It is known that the man's love for fitness began in 1979 when he read about the benefits of training in a magazine. Since then, every day, Zou has always started exercising at 5:30 a.m. before going to work at 8 a.m. and has maintained a regular fitness routine for 45 years.
Now, at retirement age, the 70-year-old grandfather runs every day, rain or shine. He was often topless and barefoot. Due to his proximity to Mount Gele, the man considers it his outdoor gym.
Every day, Zou starts training by climbing more than 2,500 steps from the foot of the mountain to the top. The climb takes about 1 hour and the descent is 50 minutes.
Notably, he also devised unique climbing techniques such as leapfrogging when ascending and crocodile-style crawling when descending. "Crawling doesn't hurt the knees, it trains the coordination of the limbs," Zou explained.
To meet the amount of water for the body, the man always carries a water bottle of nearly 20 liters when jogging. In addition, he is practicing weight pulling, rope or pole climbing, planting banana trees. The 70-year-old grandfather also revealed another secret to staying young and having a toned physique, which is to go to bed early and stay away from alcohol and tobacco for the past four decades.
Thanks to his strong young body, Zou has many fans on social media. "At that age he was still moving, moving so quickly, so admirable.
These positive things need to be spread more so that everyone knows the key to keeping the body young"; "He looked like a spider, very supple and toned"; "The young man in his physical twenties is far inferior to him, which is admirable"... is Netizen's comment.
According to University of Kentucky researchers, the average person can burn 563 calories per hour by climbing mountains. People weighing 70kg carrying 20kg when climbing mountains can burn 633 calories per hour.
Previously, climbing was only known as a sport of professional athletes or people with special passions. But at the present time, it has become closer to everyone, becoming an activity considered as discovery or travel that merely contributes to improving health and spirit.
According to experts, climbing is a healthy type of exercise. This is a sport that moves all parts, activates the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, improves muscle elasticity and flexibility, helps the body keep balance and blood circulation.
However, people with respiratory or cardiovascular problems, diseases of the bones and joints, nervous system such as osteoarthritis, sciatica, etc. It is not recommended to climb mountains. Older adults, with underlying medical conditions, should consult a doctor to ensure safety.
If climbing is not a hobby, people can try other unique exercises to stay in shape. A 30-year-old mother in California said she took control of her life by practicing taekwondo twice a week, while a 32-year-old father in New York revealed he lost 36kg by jumping rope.
