NewJeans sits on 'fire', parents are summoned for impeachment, new CEO ADOR says shocking?

NewJeans had an emergency meeting with the CEO of ADOR company right before the September 25 deadline that the group mentioned in the livestream.

According to the music industry, the members of Kpop girl group NewJeans and their parents had a meeting with Kim Joo Young - CEO of ADOR (NewJeans' management company) on the afternoon of September 23.

This meeting was held 12 days after NewJeans members expressed their opinions through a livestream program. At that time, NewJeans asked HYBE to reinstate former CEO Min Hee Jin and return ADOR to its original state before September 25.

During the meeting with new CEO Kim Joo Young, NewJeans is said to have reiterated their demands from the September 11 livestream, and Kim Joo Young responded according to the current policies when she took over as CEO.

It is not yet known what the outcome of the meeting will be, but it will likely decide the fate of NewJeans going forward.

Sports Chosun later revealed that NewJeans still maintained its stance on reinstating CEO Min Hee Jin during the meeting. Meanwhile, CEO Kim Joo Young's side is said to have tried to convince the group and parents based on the ADOR normalization policy.

September 25 is the last day of the deadline that NewJeans mentioned. Legal experts speculate that the 2-week deadline proves the intention of the NewJeans members (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) to file a petition to terminate their exclusive contract, if HYBE does not accept their requests.

In May, it was reported that NewJeans had filed a petition in court, amid the ongoing trial of Min Hee Jin's lawsuit against HYBE. Details were not disclosed, but the members have repeatedly shown their strong bond by considering Min Hee Jin as their "mother" since their debut. Recently, NewJeans even directly thanked the former CEO at a music awards ceremony.

As the deadline set by NewJeans members for the return of former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin draws nearer, HYBE's stock price has fallen to a 52-week low as of September 23. According to MP Doctor, at 9:13 a.m. on September 23 (Korean time), HYBE shares were trading at 158,700 won (about $118.91), down 0.81% from the previous trading day.

During the trading session, the price fell to a low of 158,000 won (about $118.39), marking a new 52-week low.

According to Korean media, it seems that HYBE will not agree to NewJeans' request, market analysts speculate that the group may file for an injunction to suspend their exclusive contract after the deadline.

In an interview aired on Japan's WOWOW satellite TV channel, Min Hee Jin said, "I have a blueprint in mind. I envision a long-term plan for NewJeans, looking forward to the next seven years."

Realizing that the idol girl group was competing unequally with HYBE, Newjeans fans took action that surprised social media. In front of the HYBE Group headquarters, a series of Led light trucks and white flower wreaths sent by the fan community of the girl group NewJeans (Bunnies) appeared.

The messages mentioned include: "The artist is not guilty", "Bang Shi Hyuk come out, don't hide anymore", "Bunnies always supports NewJeans. Please return CEO Min Hee Jin", "Please accept NewJeans' request".

"Artists are not guilty" is the content that Jungkook (BTS) previously posted on Instagram, along with the message "Don't take advantage of them", which is considered to be a support for the 5 members of NewJeans. The NewJeans fan community said that they will hold a protest from September 23-25 in front of HYBE headquarters and several other locations in Seoul. Bunnies noted that their concern did not only arise after NewJeans' September 11 livestream, but it has been going on since April, when the conflict between Min Hee Jin and HYBE began.
