The 5 members of the Kpop gir.l group NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) held a press conference, announcing the termination of their contract with ADOR Company (under HYBE Group). They emphasized that they will "operate independently, no longer related to HYBE and ADOR".

In addition, the group’s fashion and promotional activities are still updated on this account, such as the announcement of Danielle becoming the global ambassador of the Omega brand, or the 12 covers of Vogue Korea that were just released on December 18.

But the name NewJeans does not appear in any of the posts. After 4 days of the account being created, ADOR Company recently issued an official statement. ADOR said that the jeanzforfree account opened by 5 members was not agreed with the company in advance. Third-party advertisers are questioning and complaining about the content posted on this account.

“NewJeans has dedicated platforms created specifically for communicating with fans, as well as official social media accounts such as Insta and X (Twitter). ADOR hopes that NewJeans members will continue to interact with fans through these official channels as they have done so far,” the company added.

Previously, after NewJeans announced the termination of the contract, ADOR filed a lawsuit to verify that the exclusive contract between the company and NewJeans is still valid until July 31, 2029. ADOR emphasized that NewJeans cannot pursue entertainment activities outside the scope of the contract with ADOR.

In addition, NewJeans recently attracted attention with a new photo series with Min Hee Jin. Fashion magazine Vogue Korea announced the cover faces for its inaugural issue (January) 2025, which are 5 female Kpop idols Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein (members of the gir.l group NewJeans).

However, in the Insta post, Vogue Korea wrote: "The five girls we love. Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein, hello new generation," but did not mention the group name NewJeans.

The ADOR company and the group name NewJeans were not added to the hashtags of the posts, only the names of the 5 female idols stood alone. Notably, the director who directed this photo series was former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin - "the mother of NewJeans" - who announced her resignation from ADOR on November 20 this year.

Vogue Korea's move not to mention the name "NewJeans" has attracted attention in the context that NewJeans members are having a contract dispute with ADOR Company (part of HYBE Group).
