"Red Rain" and MV - Made in Vietnam arouse national pride, ignite patriotism in young people, making viewers moved by realistic images, lively music and choking emotions, spreading strongly.
Not stereotyped or heavily propagandistic, cultural products such as the movie Red Rain and the MV Made in Vietnam are touching the hearts of young people thanks to careful investment, authentic and fresh content, and the direct participation of patriotic young people.
Red Rain is a revolutionary war film produced by the People's Army Cinema, which has received much attention from audiences in recent days. The film's script was written by writer Chu Lai, directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen, inspired and fictionalized by the events of 81 days and nights of fighting to protect Quang Tri Citadel in the summer of 1972 - one of the fiercest battles of the 20th century. The film vividly depicts the silent sacrifices and noble ideals of generations of young people in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
As soon as the trailer was released, many viewers, especially young people, expressed their deep emotions on social networks. Many people shed tears when witnessing the fierce fighting scenes, the camaraderie, and the silent sacrifices. The image of Quang Tri Citadel appeared both heroic and tragic: the mother choked up seeing her son off to battle, the soldiers immersed themselves in the Thach Han River in the rain of bombs, their faces darkened, tears falling, and rare laughter and singing in the middle of the battlefield.
Following the elaborately invested revolutionary war works, Red Rain is an inspirational epic about patriotism, fighting spirit and the desire for peace of the Vietnamese people. The soundtrack song What's more beautiful, performed by actor - musician "Gen Z" Nguyen Hung, quickly spread on many social networking platforms. The deep, bright melody, combined with humane lyrics such as: "Mom, cheer up, you have a heroic son", "Bringing youth to sow freedom for the country, For me, that's all, what's more beautiful?" makes it easy for young audiences to sympathize and live with the proud, throbbing but also peaceful emotions of the young soldier. The film is expected to be released nationwide on August 22, 2025, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
Meanwhile, the MV Made in Vietnam, produced by the DTAP group and accompanied by the Central Youth Union, is a musical product honoring the beauty of Vietnamese culture, landscapes and people. The MV brings together 100 people from many different ethnicities, ages and professions, including faces that have made Vietnam famous internationally. The MV depicts a journey connecting the past with the present, from "Dong Son Station" to Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi, passing through heritage sites, traditional craft villages and the simple but resilient lives of the people.
Singer Phuong My Chi appeared in the MV in a white ao dai, wearing badges: Youth following Uncle Ho's words, Outstanding young citizen of Ho Chi Minh City, Promising young face of Vietnam. Her clear, pure voice resounded in the song like a surge of pride: "I love so much, so much, the old craft villages in my hometown/The new silk dress of Ha Dong flows gracefully...". On her personal page, Phuong My Chi shared her happiness at participating in the project and was proud that the MV was the crystallization of the love for culture and the love for the Fatherland of all the participants, from uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters to young people.
Both Red Rain and Made in Vietnam are typical examples of how today's young generation conveys patriotism and national pride through modern, authentic, attractive and close cultural forms. No longer burdened with heavy propaganda, these products both create entertainment value and educate patriotism, helping young people feel more deeply about the history, culture and traditional values of the nation.
These works also open up a new direction for Vietnamese cinema and music: investing systematically, exploiting content with humanistic values, and using language and images close to young audiences. With Red Rain and Made in Vietnam, patriotism is not just words on paper or in history books, but becomes a vivid, emotional experience that touches the hearts of viewers directly.
