Johnson also criticized Diddy's team's request for a court order barring prosecutors and federal agents from disclosing information about the case to the media in court documents filed on October 9. In the document, Diddy's lawyers accused the federal government of sending CNN a video of the rapper beating his girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a hotel hallway in 2016. She said the request was "simply a way for the defense to dismiss damning evidence."
