When life gives you a tangerine, there are only a few more episodes left to close after going through three tearful chapters. Netflix recently released teaser images for the final chapter, causing the audience to protest because it is too tragic.
Most recently, Netflix released teaser images for the final 4 episodes that will air on April 4. These images immediately became a hot topic that netizens shared across all platforms. The reason is because the audience discovered "hints" that showed the project's not-so-perfect ending, similar to the images that were hinted at in episode 1.
Specifically, in the preview of the ending, the audience continuously sees images signaling that the male lead Gwan Sik will pass away before his wife. Geum Myeong sobbing while taking someone to the emergency room, Mrs. Ae Soon with wrinkled skin and silver hair sitting alone, and the flashback scene of Ae Soon and her 3 children waving happily,... all seem to signal Gwan Sik's passing.
Not to mention in episode 1, the film also opens with the image of Ae Soon alone in a nursing home, followed by the scene of her standing alone in front of the sea, remembering her mother who was taken away by the sea. Ae Soon's loneliness from the very beginning of the film is a sign of the most painful winter, but the audience still does not accept that and hopes for some good news at the end. However, the teaser images of the final chapter extinguish all hope.
In fact, birth, aging, sickness and death are the laws of life, perhaps Gwan Sik will die of old age, because in the scene of his daughter's wedding, he looked very old. However, viewers still do not want this scene of separation between yin and yang to happen in the movie, especially in the previous 3 chapters of the movie, Ae Soon lost her relatives: parents - son - grandmother.
By the end of the chapter, she seems to have lost the most precious thing, Gwan Sik - the person who has been with her all her life, never leaving her side for a single day. In an episode in chapter 3, Ae Soon expressed her small wish that when she is old, she and her husband can die together. But perhaps this dream is too extravagant, so the audience must see the scene of the separation of yin and yang at the end.
When Life Gives You Oranges is a healing film, no one can deny that it has moments of tenderness for the audience. But the film creates too many deep wounds, so that no matter how hard it tries to heal, the whole process has made the audience tear up too many times.
In fact, this scene has not been aired yet, it is like a warning about chapter 4 - winter which is also the end of the film. A painful and cold winter, where Ae Soon and Gwan Sik struggle to find a way out of the greatest pain of their lives with all the unfinished love.
Currently, it is not known what will really happen in the ending, but the audience has left countless comments opposing the screenwriter. Many people think that birth, aging, sickness and death are natural laws, but the screenwriter does not necessarily have to be so "harsh" with the audience. The film's title is inherently healing and encouraging to the characters, but in all 4 parts of the work, it seems that none of the parts really bring that encouragement and comfort.
When Life Gives You Oranges currently has 16 episodes and instead of releasing it in the usual form, Netflix chose to divide the movie into 4 chapters, releasing 1 chapter each week corresponding to 4 episodes.
This is probably not to attract readers or maintain long-term appeal, but simply because each chapter represents a season of the year, which is also a season in the life of the female lead Ae Soon. Spring - Summer - Fall - Winter, each season passes by like the way Ae Soon separates each tangerine segment, the more she separates, the more her eyes sting, not a single segment is truly sweet.
Karma went on the air causing a fever, but fans criticized the movie for being too "crazy", the heroine was handcuffed on her back Dan Ny11:39:04 06/04/2025After Life for You, Netflix continues to launch the Karma project, also known as Karma. The newly premiered project has caused a global fever, but the film still causes a lot of controversy around the content.
