Recently, Rosé of Blackpink appeared on the famous Korean variety show "You Quiz on the Block", broadcast on tvN, hosted by 2 MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho.

During the show, the idol shared various stories throughout her music career and even broke down in tears when talking about her younger days. After passing the YG Entertainment audition in Australia, Rosé moved to Korea alone at the age of 16. She recalled her difficult time as a K-pop trainee and her motivation to debut in Blackpink.

“I cried every night and video called my parents. My dad told me to go back to Australia if things got too hard, but I knew that wasn’t true. I told myself I wouldn’t leave Korea until I achieved my dream of becoming a singer.

Many people (back home) asked me what I was going to do, and they didn't understand me. I just told them, 'Wait and see.' So I couldn't accept going back without achieving anything. That became my motivation," Rosé shared.

During her years of training with the other members, Rosé thought she was the worst trainee, so she practiced hard. She still remembers the happy moment when she was first praised.

"Back then, I always thought I was the worst trainee. We were in the same practice room, and I lacked confidence, I couldn't practice as much as I wanted.

So I needed time without anyone around me to do whatever I wanted. I remember being so proud of myself when I practiced until the sun came up. Looking back now, I think I was pretty cool when I was a trainee.

I still remember the first time I was praised in dance class. Lisa danced very well, so I thought I had to learn from Lisa, so I practiced a lot. One day, after class ended, the teacher said, "Everyone, please clap for Lisa and Chaeyoung." I felt like my dream had come true when my name was called together with Lisa's" - the singer recalled.

As for her most memorable moment promoting with Blackpink, Rosé chose performing at the Coachella music festival in 2019, as the first Korean girl group to do so.

Rosé shared, "I was really nervous. Coachella is known as a festival where many music lovers attend, and I thought we might not get much love here.

No Korean girl group had ever performed at this festival before, so I was worried that people wouldn't come to see us. In my hotel room, I imagined the worst and thought, "Even if there are 30 people out there, let's just have fun." However, things turned out differently.
