Hyungwon (Monsta X): All-round idol, unquestionable visual, and also does many jobs

Hyungwon is not only handsome, but also attracts many fans with his many talents. In addition to singing and dancing, he is also known as a model, actor and DJ.

Hyungwon's full name is Chae Hyungwon, born in 1994 in Gwangju province (South Korea), and briefly lived with his family in Wiesbaden, Germany. He is currently active in the arts as a member of the boy group Monsta X.

In addition to Hyungwon, the group has 5 members: Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Joohoney and IM, under Starship Entertainment. Monsta X is famous for its strong musical style. During its time of operation, the group has achieved many important achievements.

Immediately after his debut, Hyungwon attracted audiences with his handsome face and special talent. Before becoming an idol, he was a model for fashion events. His versatility is also shown through many different roles such as acting and hosting.

When he was young, Hyungwon dreamed of becoming a lawyer when he grew up. Because the male idol could express his opinions in debates. However, when he grew up, he moved to Seoul to enroll in Plug In Music Academy.

Here, Hyungwon began his journey to become a dancer. As a teenager, the 1994-born idol had a bright face and impressive height. This helped him "catch a fate" as a model and often appeared on famous fashion runways.

Having experienced many different art forms, Hyungwon decided to try his hand at singing when he joined JYP Entertainment. In the end, he chose Starship as his "destination" to develop his future career and diligently practiced his vocal and dancing skills.

Hyungwon then participated in Mnet's survival show "No.Mercy" in late 2014. The show was produced by Starship Entertainment and was aimed at finding a new boy group. He was one of thirteen trainees to compete, eventually placing fourth in the final lineup and joining Monsta X.

Hyungwon and the other members of Monsta X released their first EP called "Trespass" on May 14, 2015. He also appeared in K.Will's music video "You Call It Romance" in January 2016. The male idol's performance also received a lot of praise.

In March 2017, Hyungwon officially debuted in acting with the KBS2 drama "Please Find Her" (supporting role Jeon Ik-soo). In May, he started working as a DJ and used the stage name " DJ H.ONE" to perform a special stage at the event "KCON 2017 Japan" with DJ Justin Oh held at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo.

Hyungwon then continued to appear and perform together with DJ Justin Oh at the "EDM Ultra Music Festival Korea" held at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul on June 10. In September of the same year, his first single in collaboration with DJ Justin Oh, "BAM! BAM! BAM!" featuring member Jooheon, was released.

Hyungwon then released a single as part of his work on the television show "Mix and the City" with DJ Justin Oh as producer titled "1 (One)".

In June 2018, Hyungwon continued to participate in the "EDM Ultra Music Festival Korea" held at Everland Speedway in Seoul. Not stopping there, the 1994-born idol also collaborated with VIXX's Hongbin and the costume manufacturer for Pepsi's "The Love of Summer: The Performance" as well as released the song "Cool Love" on July 10, 2019.

In 2020, Hyungwon participated in writing, composing, and arranging the song "None Else" for Monsta X's "Fatal Love" Album. In June 2021, he and Minhyuk were also chosen as new actors for the Youtube channel "Inssa Oppa".

In August, MBC's "Idol Radio" announced that its second season would begin airing, with Hyungwon serving as a DJ alongside member Joohoney. As of March 2022, he and Minhyuk have returned for "Inssa Oppa" season 06.

Hyungwon also formed Monsta X's first official sub-unit "Shownu X Hyungwon" with Shownu on July 25, 2023. The sub-unit released their debut EP "The Unseen" with the lead single "Love Me a Little".

Regarding personal life, in 2017, a lot of evidence proving that the relationship between Hyungwon and announcer Kim Yoon Hee had lasted for quite a long time was suddenly spread all over online forums. Also based on this series of evidence, netizens and fans of the group Monsta X all believed that the couple was really in love.

After that, suspicious posts continued to be posted on social media. In one, Kim Yoon Hee posted a picture of a gift she received. On the gift box, the sender also wrote a very affectionate line saying "Please treat me well. I miss you". Many people confirmed that the handwriting on it was Hyungwon's.

On another occasion, Kim Yoon Hee posted a selfie with the caption "My boyfriend is Manjjitnam". "Manjjitnam" is an acronym derived from a phrase in Korean and usually refers to handsome guys who look like they came out of a comic book. Notably, this is also Hyungwon's nickname.

Not only that, this female announcer continued to attract Monsta X fans' attention when sharing a picture of a puppy with the caption: "Mon Bebe". These phrases coincide with the name of the group's official fandom.

Soon after, management company Starship Entertainment responded to Hyungwon's dating rumors by announcing on the official website on August 4 of the same year.

The company said: "Hyungwon and that girl used to date but they broke up in early 2016. Her social media posts have caused many misunderstandings." They also warned that they would take strong legal action against anyone who spreads negative information to ruin the reputation of the idol born in 1994.
