Nguyen Hoang Huy, commonly known as Huy Forum , is one of the prominent faces of the IELTS learning community in Vietnam.

He attracted attention thanks to his IELTS score of 9.0 and his humorous and friendly sharing style through livestreams.

Before the scandal, Huy was considered an "inspirational phenomenon", attracting a large number of students and at the same time establishing an exam preparation center.

However, a wave of controversy suddenly erupted after his English speech on a stage. It was this pent-up emotion and sudden change that made him lose his composure, affecting his delivery. He said that in that context, controlling his voice and emotions was difficult, and he had absolutely no intention of showing off his English skills on stage.

Despite the explanation, the mixed reactions have not stopped. Some people even questioned the quality of his center. Some students reported that the teaching was not up to expectations. Some people said that the teachers were superficial, did not follow the progress or did not meet the advertised quality. The incident put pressure on the center's image and Huy himself.

Amidst the public tension, Huy Forum's health showed signs of decline. He announced that he would cancel his participation in an event at a shopping mall in Hue due to "severe physical weakness". This was the second time in a row that he had to cancel his schedule in a short period of time. Huy apologized to the organizers and the audience, admitting that his failure to ensure his health had affected others. He said he felt very guilty and promised to find a way to compensate in the near future.

In recent livestreams, Huy has shown a receptive attitude when recognizing his own weaknesses. He affirmed that he has never considered himself a perfect person, and that limitations in pronunciation and expression are things he is still trying to improve.
