Hung Huynh: Vietnamese trainee goes to China to take the exam, now bombing Brother Say Hi

Gemini Hung Huynh, whose full name is Huynh Hoang Hung, was born on June 5, 1999 and is from Dong Nai. He is a former student of Le Quy Don High School, Ho Chi Minh City. He used to work as a trainee for 3 years in a Korean entertainment company based in Vietnam and has strengths in dancing.

Hung Huynh cherished his dream of becoming an idol since high school. The guy has a great passion for Kpop, often watching TV or computers to practice dancing along. In particular, NCT and BlackPink are two Korean groups that Hung Huynh always follows and gives a lot of affection. The male singer once made an impression as a Vietnamese trainee who made his mark on the Chinese music show - Asia Super Young. "Asia Super Young" is a talent search program produced by TVB. With a format similar to popular survival shows in Korea, Asia Super Young gathered 65 trainees from countries across Asia, in order to find a new idol boy group. Talking about the chance to come to "Super Asian Young", Hung Huynh shared that he was introduced by an acquaintance and sent an invitation to participate in casting: "A staff member in my old company where I used to be a trainee for 3 years introduced me to participate in the program and try casting, I was also in the mood to try casting for fun because I hadn't practiced anything in the 1st round It's been more than a year and as a result, I was able to fly there to take the exam."

"After leaving my old company, I chose to pursue a different job. For more than a year, I haven't practiced at all. So when I learned that I had passed the casting, I was very surprised, then I had to urgently apply for a visa to fly to China to concentrate. I was the last contestant to be present because the show had started casting at the beginning of the year. I barely had time to prepare. Even the casting part only has exactly 1 day to practice," Hung Huynh added.

It is known that Hung Huynh only has 1 week to practice for the solo competition and the group competition. In the solo performance, he showed off his dancing ability through the song "That's What I Like" (Bruno Mars). Although he didn't have much time, Hung decided to change the solo exam just 2 days before recording. "I had the belief that 'That's What I Like' would help me win, so I chose this song at the last minute. Even the part of taking off my jacket in the middle of the performance I thought of before going on stage," Hung Huynh added.

With the group competition, Hung Huynh continued to impress with his ability to master the stage, coordinate smoothly with his teammates. After two performances, all the judges unanimously awarded the Vietnamese representative a level 1 star (the highest ranking). In addition, Hung Huynh also entered the Top 10 of the contestant rankings in 8th place. This is a good sign for the guy at the beginning of the contest.

Regarding the difficulties in the process of participating in the contest, Hung Huynh said that the biggest barrier he faces is language. However, the guy expressed his pride in being able to represent Vietnam in fighting abroad. That is also the motivation for Hung to be determined to show his best, to prove that Vietnamese people are not inferior to international friends.

"Actually, my foreign language is quite poor and I don't have time to prepare for the competition, so I just know how to try and take advantage of what I know to communicate. I try to communicate and make friends with everyone to improve, every night I try to spend a little more time studying," Hung Huynh shared.

"At "Super Asian Young", I experienced all kinds of emotions. From happy, sad, worried to crying... These are also memorable experiences in my youth," Huynh Hoang Hung said.

At the contest, Hung Huynh had to compete with many familiar faces who had participated in previous vital shows such as Kim Dong Bin (Produce 101 season 2, Produce X), Ollie, Wang Yanghong (Boys Planet 999)... Although there are still many limitations in terms of foreign languages, it is undeniable that it is his eye-catching appearance and quite good mastery of the stage that made him score points in the show.

Before Hung Huynh, many Vietnamese contestants have also appeared in foreign survival shows such as Dang Hong Hai, Nguyen Thanh Cong (Boys Planet 999), Hanbin Ngoc Hung (I-LAND) who have now debuted as members of the boy group TEMPEST.
