On March 21, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy announced that it had received a complaint from Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung (artist Hong Nhung, born in 1963, sister of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh) accusing singer Nguyen Vu (born in 1974), Ms. NTMT (born in 1983), Ms. NTBT
In addition, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung also sent a petition to the Ministry of Public Security, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee and many other functional agencies.
In the petition, artist Hong Nhung asserted that Ms. NTMT, in the name of supporting Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan (daughter of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh) in the property dispute case, made false statements, slandered and seriously offended the honor, reputation, and dignity of her and many others.
Ms. Nhung said that this is to attract attention, increase followers and interactions when posting news and livestreaming to receive more support. Some people even take advantage of many followers to sell products for profit.
Ms. Nhung said that Ms. NTMT and many others have spoken out with unverified information to mislead the community about objective truths, directly and indirectly leading public opinion to attac.k and insul.t her.
In the complaint, Ms. Nhung said that Ms. NTMT, singer NV and Ms. NTBT, along with many others, commented with incorrect information to condemn her family.
Ms. Nhung believes that the actions of Ms. NTMT, singer NV, Ms. NTBT and many others show signs of violating criminal law regarding the crimes of humiliating others; slande.r; and taking advantage of democratic freedoms to infringe upon personal interests.
Ms. Nhung requested the investigating agency to consider investigating and clarifying the criminal violations of these people to handle them according to the law. Ms. Nhung has collected evidence that she believes these people insulted her and sent it along with the complaint.
Previously, Ms. Nhung appeared in court and told many shocking stories about her niece Hong Loan's background.
She said that when her mother passed away, her family continued to care for and love Loan as a family member. However, she could not hide her disappointment when Loan failed to fulfill her responsibilities as a daughter to the family.
Ms. Nhung talked about the conflicts and arguments in the family, especially between Ms. Loan and Mr. Ngoan. She said that Mr. Ngoan had kicked Ms. Loan out of the house many times due to her inappropriate actions, including those related to mone.y.
Ms. Nhung stated that from 2024, the care and nurturing relationship between Mr. Ngoan and Ms. Loan ended.
According to Ms. Nhung, Mr. Ngoan kicked Ms. Loan out of the house in 2003. "After I brought Loan back and convinced Mr. Ngoan to forgive her, Ms. Loan returned to live with Mr. Ngoan twice for a short period of 1-2 years each time and continued to have conflicts and then left. Every time there was a conflict, out of love, I was always the one to help Ms. Loan mend her relationship with Mr. Ngoan.
But since 2014, Mr. Ngoan has not allowed Ms. Loan to enter the house if there is no one in the house because Mr. Ngoan thinks that Ms. Loan often cheats and steals mone.y from Mr. Ngoan. Mr. Ngoan said that he will not leave any property to Ms. Loan, and when Mr. Ngoan dies, he does not need Ms. Loan to mourn. Thus, since 2014, Mr. Ngoan has no longer had feelings for Ms. Loan because he is too disappointed with Ms. Loan's behavior" - Ms. Nhung wrote in the appeal.
Another argument of Ms. Nhung's appeal is that when Mr. Ngoan was sick, he needed mone.y for treatment and care. If Ms. Loan had financial difficulties, she could not have contributed mone.y, but she could not have deceived Mr. Ngoan to appropriate mone.y sent to him by others. Specifically, Ms. Loan hid from Mr. Ngoan that Ms. Van Tien sent him 3,000 USD, only informing him that Ms. Van Tien sent 1,000 USD and kept 2,000 USD (about 50 million VND), this action was not only deceitful but also caused harm to Mr. Ngoan and Ms. Van Tien.
According to Ms. Nhung, if Ms. Loan is determined to be Mr. Ngoanâs legally adopted chil.d, her actions have seriously violated her duty to care for and support her adoptive parents when Mr. Ngoan was sick. Therefore, Ms. Loan has no right to inherit Mr. Ngoanâs inheritance.
Ms. Nhung also accuse.d that when the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh passed away, his adopted daughter Hong Loan did not contribute to his funeral expenses.
