According to the security agency, in recent days on social networking sites and groups in Vinh Long, there have appeared a number of articles with false content, causing confusion among the people. Specifically, on Facebook continuously appeared posts with the content: "Tam Binh General Hospital added 599 cases of covid 19, everyone"; "This morning 14/7 discovered another 2,190 cases"; "Currently, covid 19 cases are increasing very high in Vinh Long province, now 5699 positive people have been quarantined" and "If Vietnam reaches 10 million Covid-19 cases, I will release a hot clip" , ... with illustrations, confusing public opinion.

The account even posted a status line with the content that she has 3 husbands, 2 children and is lonely.

The Internal Political Security Department, Vinh Long Provincial Police has verified and discovered the above information posted by the Facebook account "Le Thi Luyen". By professional measures, Vinh Long province police identified Nhut as the person who created the above Facebook account.

Working initially, Nhut admitted that, due to a personal conflict with her sister-in-law Le Thi Luyen (SN 1989, living at the same address), she created an impersonated Facebook account and posted false information about her relationship. Covid-19 epidemic in the province and insulting images of Ms. Luyen, in order to create disadvantages for her.

Currently, the case is being handled by the Internal Political Security Department, consolidating the file, and handling it in accordance with the law.

Pursuant to Article a, Clause 1, Article 101 of Decree 15/2020/ND-CP:

"1. A fine ranging from VND 10,000,000 to VND 20,000,000 shall be imposed for taking advantage of social networks to commit one of the following acts:

a) Providing and sharing fake information, untruthful information, distorting, slandering, insulting the reputation of agencies or organizations, honor and dignity of individuals;"

And Clause 3, Article 4 of Decree 15/2020:

Organizations and individuals that provide false information on social networks (for example, Facebook, ...) about the Covid-19 epidemic situation will be penalized as follows:

For violating organizations: A fine of from 10 million VND to 20 million VND.

For individual violators: A fine of from 5 million VND to 10 million VND.

In addition, violating organizations and individuals are also forced to remove untrue information about the Covid-19 epidemic situation that they have posted.
