Talking to PV Tien Phong on the morning of January 31, Director General of the Cinematography Department - Vi Kien Thanh said that he had received information that the film " 199 Love" was removed and was waiting for the unit buying the rights and broadcasting in Vietnam to send a detailed report.

Later, a representative of the Film Department confirmed that the premiere unit had actively removed this film on the platform. "We have sent a written request for explanation and are awaiting a response from VieON. This incident is not too big, the unit has handled the removal in time," he said.

The Chinese drama "199 Love" (Vietnamese title: Love 199 - Want to Love Forever) starring Yang Zi and Fan Chengcheng - Fan Bingbing's younger brother, aired from January 20 on Jiangsu Television and some platforms in the country of billions of people.

In Vietnam, the film is licensed by VieON application to broadcast in parallel with the Chinese side. However, after the first 8 episodes, the application suddenly stopped showing and removed the previously broadcast episodes.

The comments section below the drama displayed a message: "Due to censorship reasons, the film is suspended from broadcasting. I hope you understand that the film will return soon after completing content moderation."

Immediately, many articles appeared on social networks pointing out that, in a scene in episode 9 of the drama, there were images and content referring to the illegal bull's tongue line.

A representative of VieON said, "Want to Forever Love" was bought exclusively from China. The film version is carefully censored by the provided partner, without content that violates the issue of sea and island sovereignty.

"However, as soon as we received feedback from the online community, we checked the pirated copy further and found this detail. VieON was quickly removed from platforms, while hiding the premiered episodes," the person said.

VieON further informed that, due to the parallel screening with the Chinese side, the episodes were not received in advance. Only a few hours away from broadcasting, the partner will transfer the file for them to censor, as well as conduct dubbing or narration of the film.

"We have now contacted our partners, asking them to send the originals for a thorough inspection. If there is a cow's tongue line, we will directly take down the film," VieON shared.

"Want to Love Forever" is adapted from the novel "Who Do You Like at the Age of 17" which is loved by many Chinese readers. The drama is expected to be 36 episodes long, telling the story of a group of friends who are together in their younger years.
