The General Department of Market Management (GDMM, Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that in early December 2024, GDMM Team No. 11, GDMM Department of Quang Nam province conducted an investigation, verification and inspection of Duong Duong Business Household.

This business household is legally represented by Mr. Mai Van Duong and is trading in house incense powder and agarwood buds.

Through that, the inspection team of Market Management Team No. 11 discovered that the Duong Duong Duong business household, represented by Mr. Mai Van Duong, was selling 50 packages of house-warming powder and 10 boxes of agarwood buds without any basis to determine the origin of the goods.

In addition, at location 254 Hung Vuong (opposite 163 Hung Vuong, Tra My town), there are no signs of display, business or production.

At the time of inspection, Mr. Duong could not provide invoices, vouchers, or other papers proving legal ownership of the goods and civil transactions between the organization or individual producing the goods and the relevant parties as prescribed by law.

In particular, Mr. Duong's business is selling house-warming powder, quantity 50 packs; listed price 125 thousand VND/pack; unused. Agarwood buds, quantity 10 boxes; listed price 450 thousand VND/box, unused. The total value of the infringing goods according to the listed price is 10,750,000 VND.

All of these products have no basis for origin including information shown on product labels, product packaging, records, and documents accompanying the products.

From the results of the examination and verification, the examination and verification team proposed a surprise inspection of the Duong Duong Business Household, located at 163 Hung Vuong, Tra My town, Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province.

Mr. Mai Van Duong admitted that the above goods were bought and sold on the market for profit, so their origin was unknown.

On that basis, the Captain of Market Management Team No. 11 issued a decision to administratively sanction the Duong Duong Duong business household for commercial activities, production, trading of counterfeit and prohibited goods and consumer protection with a fine of 6 million VND; at the same time, forced the destruction of all violating goods according to regulations.

After the male tiktoker was fined, female youtuber Tho Nguyen posted a sarcastic post. She wrote: "No intention. But 1 year ago you posted a clip about me and I confirm once again: it is not true. The source of information you know is the same as the items you sell, "of unknown origin".

After being publicly retaliated against by Tho Nguyen, TikToker Duong Duong Duong spoke up in response.

He explained: "There are no fake products here. In my hometown, everyone makes their own. I mix herbs for the house. Some I have to go up the mountain to pick. Some I have to buy. When I get home, I mix about 30 different types. I don't fake any brands. There are inspections and fines. If there were quality inspections, my whole hometown would be fined."

The male tiktoker's explanation caused controversy among netizens. One account commented: "That's why everyone has loopholes and mistakes when doing business. You shouldn't look too closely at other people's work. Now you're explaining and presenting that reason."

Many people think that the account owner is reminding the guy not to "stick" to Doan Di Bang and CEO Nha Le because "everyone makes mistakes".

However, Duong Duong Duong said: "You don't avoid it, you still pay the fine. But you have to tell the truth about what you were fined for. Don't explain, just tell the truth. You're not like someone else who denies it."

Mr. Duong often uses these social networking sites to share videos, advertising images, introducing feng shui items, and agarwood bud products.
