The latest move of male singer DPR Ian caused a stir on the internet when he suddenly accused the "team" of betraying him, harming himself and losing his career, and unfollowing related accounts.
The international fan community was stirred by a series of angry posts by DPR Ian - a Korean-Australian singer, rapper and director. In it, he expressed his deep indignation and disappointment when he thought that he was financially squeezed after 10 years of dedication to the Dream Perfect Regime (DPR) collective but "received nothing in return".
DPR Ian opened the series with a shared line that shocked fans: "I've been editing, directing, and creating everything for DPR for the past 10 years, but I haven't gotten anything financially. Do you think I make money?"
The male artist frankly mentioned Scott Kim ( DPR REM ) â the co-founder of DPR but left the group in 2024 and accused him of being the one who "took away" the achievements that the whole team worked so hard to build. According to DPR Ian, he is now even in debt because of the creative work he once pursued wholeheartedly.
"Are we going to treat it as if nothing ever happened? Starting from scratch without getting paid for 10 years of dedication? The videos I directed, edited, and effected were all my efforts, but now I am in debt because of those products," DPR Ian wrote bitterly.
In the next sharing lines, DPR Ian could not hide his disappointment, saying that DPR â which used to be a "lifeline" to help him recover after leaving the idol industry â has now become the cause of his deep emotional damage. He claimed to have "done everything for DPR", but ended up being misjudged and seen as the one who caused DPR LIVE to leave the group.
What worries fans the most is DPR Ian's desperate sharing lines. He wrote, "I would destroy myself mentally in exchange for your happiness and freedom. Regain your spirits, look down at your scars one last time and keep moving forward."
Many fans expressed concern about the male singer's mental health, calling on him to rest and seek help. Some colleagues in the world have also quietly expressed support and encouragement, although the DPR has not yet issued an official response to the allegations.
DPR Ian's real name is Christian Yu, born in 1990, used to be the leader of the band C-Clown, which debuted in 2012 under Yedang Entertainment (now YG Plus). After the group disbanded in 2015, he and his friends founded Dream Perfect Regime (DPR) â an independent artist collective including DPR LIVE, DPR CREAM, DPR REM and many others. With multi-disciplinary talent, DPR Ian is not only a singer but also a visual director, the person behind many MVs with DPR's signature cinematic style.
His solo career has made a strong breakthrough thanks to his unique musical personality, ghostly performance style, and in-depth imagery. Albums such as "Mood Swings in This Order" or "Dear Insanity" were both highly praised by critics, confirming his position in the independent Korean music industry.
In Vietnam, DPR Ian became a sought-after name after the music night "The Regime World Tour" in June 2025 in My Dinh. His performance in the rain, along with his charismatic charisma and strong voice, helped him "score" strongly in the hearts of the audience. A series of clips recording the moment of his performance quickly went viral on social networks, causing DPR Ian to be called by the nickname "the mysterious Korean male artist who makes the whole stadium hold its breath".
In August of the same year, he continued to return to Vietnam for a music festival and continued to be warmly welcomed.
