The countdown clock is ticking for VTV's prime-time broadcast, and Binh An, playing a supporting role, is becoming a hot topic again. Why?

The Countdown Clock is a Vietnamese television drama that will air in the prime time slot of 8 PM on Thursdays and Fridays on VTV3 channel starting from the end of January 2026, replacing The Way You Are 1 Millimeter when that series concludes.

Up until now, the actor has usually been associated with roles of wealthy young men or characters who are gentle and well-behaved. The film tells the story of Thanh, a young man from a rural province who comes to the city to make a living, yearning to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. In utter despair, he contemplates suicide, but something strange happens: his dog, Coddy, whom he once saved, rescues him from that danger. This event marks a bizarre turning point in Thanh's life, allowing him to see "the remaining days of other people's lives."

Thành's ability to see the remaining lifespan of each person leads him to make momentous decisions when he discovers his mother's time is running out. From here, he embarks on a challenging journey to face difficult tasks, both to prolong his mother's life and to find answers for himself about survival, love, and the meaning of existence. The film balances surreal elements with everyday stories, captivating viewers with its mysterious aspects while evoking profound emotions about motherly love and responsibility towards loved ones.

Beyond its deeply human and emotional script, what makes Countdown Clock so appealing is its fresh approach to a theme in Vietnamese television: a story that isn't purely about urban life but also blends surreal elements, forcing the main character to make difficult choices between morality and personal gain. The series explores very ordinary relationships such as mother-daughter love, friendship, faith and disappointment, showing how people confront loss and accept their own limitations.

The cast includes Thanh Sơn as Thành, who has impressed in many previous projects and returns with a role that demands significant psychological depth and challenging acting.
