The incident that has shocked Chinese social media in recent days is the sudden death of a female online sales streamer, known as "Sister Wang Zha," during a live broadcast.
According to Chinese media, Ms. Wang Zha was a single mother raising her 5-year-old daughter. The story of her final moments shocked many viewers, especially since the entire incident occurred during a live broadcast.
Clips from the livestream on the evening of March 9th show the female streamer trying on clothes and showcasing outfits to her viewers. However, while the program was proceeding normally, she suddenly complained of a headache and neck pain. In the video, she repeatedly said she felt "uncomfortable" and appeared very tired.
Afterward, the female streamer temporarily left the frame to rest. Her assistant appeared and helped massage her neck, constantly checking on her health in the hope that she would feel better. A few minutes later, Ms. Wang Zha returned to the camera. However, her condition had not improved. The streamer's face clearly showed signs of pain, and she repeatedly touched the back of her neck as if trying to alleviate the pain.
Shortly after, noticing her condition deteriorating rapidly, she panicked and cried out to the camera: "This isn't good... call 120, I'm about to collapse!" According to local sources, the streamer's condition progressed extremely quickly. From the appearance of the first symptoms to her death, only about 10 minutes elapsed.
When medical personnel arrived at the scene, Ms. Wang Zha showed no signs of life. Her funeral was held on the morning of March 11th amidst the grief of her family and friends. The cause of death has not yet been officially announced by authorities, but many sources suggest it may have been related to an acute hemorrhagic stroke.
Friends of the female streamer said that she was relatively healthy before and was not known to have any serious illness. However, due to the nature of her livestreaming sales work, she often had to work at a very high intensity. To maintain viewership and revenue, she frequently stayed up late, broadcast for many hours continuously, and slept very little.
Some relatives revealed that before the Lunar New Year, Ms. Wang Zha had repeatedly complained of persistent headaches. Despite this, she continued working and livestreaming for extended periods due to work pressure.
Images of the female streamer's final moments, streamed live online, have deeply saddened the online community. Many expressed their sympathy upon learning that she had a young daughter, only 5 years old, waiting for her at home.
Analyzing the incident, Dr. Tran Long, Director of the Taiwan Stroke Association, stated that cerebral hemorrhage is a dangerous form of stroke that occurs when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures. Common causes can include high blood pressure, ruptured aneurysms, or subarachnoid hemorrhage.
According to experts, approximately 40–50% of patients with cerebral hemorrhage may die before reaching the hospital. In cases where the hemorrhage occurs in the brainstem – the area that controls vital functions – the mortality rate can even reach 60%.
The doctor also emphasized that smoking is a major risk factor, increasing the likelihood of stroke by 2–3 times compared to non-smokers. In addition, people with the so-called "three highs"—high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar—also have a higher risk.
