"Fairy" Truc Phuong "passed the test" successfully, an official gave the reason

In recent days, many sources have reported that Nguyen Do Truc Phuong's "Youth Dedicated to the Community" award was revoked after he was prosecuted and temporarily detained for drug use. However, the head of the award's organizing committee has recently denied this.

Regarding the case of "charity fairy" Nguyen Do Truc Phuong being prosecuted and temporarily detained by the Investigation Police Agency, Ho Chi Minh City Police for the crime of "Organizing illegal use of banned substances", this subject has received many awards for actively participating in charity activities, helping people in difficult circumstances.

Most recently, in January 2024, Nguyen Do Truc Phuong received the "Youth Contributing to the Community" Award 2023. This is an award organized annually by the Vietnam Volunteer Community since 2017. Many people wonder if Truc Phuong is prosecuted and temporarily detained, will this award be revoked?

Speaking with Cafef, Mr. Do Van De (Chairman of the Vietnam Volunteer Community, Head of the Organizing Committee of the "Youth Contributing to the Community" award) said that the Organizing Committee decided not to revoke this award for Nguyen Do Truc Phuong.

"Because this award recognizes Truc Phuong's contributions from the time the award was given back. What she contributed to charity work from then on deserves to be honored," Mr. De said, sharing that he had consulted many people before making the decision.

Mr. De added that during the nomination and candidacy process, the Organizing Committee was very careful and strictly reviewed. But the incident of Nguyen Do Truc Phuong was unforeseeable.

Previously, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union sent an official dispatch announcing the revocation of the "Beautiful Youth 2020" Award to Nguyen Do Truc Phuong.

The content of the dispatch stated: On October 11, 2020, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union organized the award ceremony of "Beautiful Youth" in 2020 to 27 individuals with outstanding achievements in various fields. Among them, there was Nguyen Do Truc Phuong.

Pursuant to Article 10 of the Regulations amending and supplementing the "Beautiful Youth" award, the provisions on award revocation are stipulated in the following cases: "Individuals and collectives are dishonest in declaring achievements; artifacts and awards are used for the wrong purposes or are exploited for illegal acts; individuals receiving awards commit illegal acts".

Therefore, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union decided to revoke the 2020 "Beautiful Youth" award for Nguyen Do Truc Phuong due to violating the law.

On November 14, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that they had prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Trung Hieu (singer Chi Dan), Nguyen Thi An (model An Tay), and Nguyen Do Truc Phuong (KOL) to investigate the crime of organizing the illegal use of banned substances.

This is the result of the investigation expansion into the case of illegal transportation of banned substances by air from France to Vietnam (Project VN10).

The online community and people are expressing regret and disappointment that "fairy" Truc Phuong not only violated the law but also affected the image of young people who are honored in society.

Nguyen Do Truc Phuong (30 years old, living in District 1) is a famous person on Facebook, known for her social work activities, regularly helping people in difficult circumstances in Ho Chi Minh City and some neighboring provinces and cities.

Truc Phuong studied abroad in Australia for 9 years. After returning home, she began her volunteer journey calling for help for those in difficult circumstances through the social network Facebook.

Nguyen Do Truc Phuong is known by many as the "charity fairy" or "fairy of the poor" as the founder and manager of a charity fund, helping many disadvantaged people across the country.

Nguyen Do Truc Phuong is one of 27 young people honored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, awarded the "Youth of Beautiful Living" Award in 2020, and is also a character in the "Kind Deeds" Program of Vietnam Television.
