On November 14, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that they had prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Do Truc Phuong (KOL, 30 years old) to investigate the crime of organizing the illegal use of banned substances.

This is the result of the investigation expansion into the case of illegal transportation of banned substances by air from France to Vietnam (Project VN10).

Before being arrested for drug-related crimes, Nguyen Do Truc Phuong was considered a "fairy" by the online community because of her beautiful appearance and her frequent volunteer work. On her personal page, Truc Phuong often shared moments of helping people in difficult circumstances and calling for charity.

It is known that after 9 years of studying abroad in Australia, Nguyen Do Truc Phuong returned to Vietnam to manage her family's hotel business, but she immediately encountered the pandemic of the century. All work was suspended and the opportunity to do charity work came by chance.

When she had the opportunity to return home, she joined the group to distribute medicine and food in hospitals or pagodas. Occasionally, she also called for support for difficult cases on her personal page. At first, Phuong only received support from friends and relatives.

However, in August 2020, when he accidentally learned about the difficult story of Mr. Nguyen Hai, a motorbike taxi driver: his old, broken motorbike could not run, he had no mone.y to buy food... Phuong was extremely worried.

This time, Phuong received 40 million VND, a much larger amount than expected. Phuong was so touched that he choked up. Even the man could not believe that after just one phone call, someone took him to buy a new car and a new phone so that he could continue to earn a living.

After this story, the media came to her, people in need came to her, friends saw people in need and also spoke up to introduce Phuong. "Maybe I have a good hand..." - Phuong simply thought.

Phuong said that every morning when she wakes up, her personal page has hundreds of new notifications. "People tag me in many places, many stories. Maybe the community believes that I will have a way or I can ask someone to help."

Not long after that, she continued to raise hundreds of millions of dong to help Mr. Tam - a man in Tay Ninh who was bitten by a cobra - have mone.y for treatment and save his leg.

According to Phuong, "The supermarket is like a place that has everything needed for daily life. There are many old people who drive motorbike taxis or sell goods on the street and never dare to go to the supermarket, let alone have the joy of shopping without having to look at the price, wondering whether to buy or not. So I want for once in their life, the elderly can shop, buy whatever they like. Some choose sandals, buy rice, fish sauce, salt, laundry detergent, some buy pots, pans..."

Just like that, strangers became acquaintances, familiar names followed one another: Mr. Chanh the ice cream seller, lonely uncle Minh, motorbike taxi uncle Thanh,....

In most cases where help is needed, Phuong goes to verify and writes a request for permission to donate within a day or a night. For her, being trusted and entrusted by people is also fate. When people trust and support her, she is happy.

With such a meaningful job, showing love for humanity, the entire online community strongly supports Phuong's work. For Truc Phuong, when she can contribute a small part of her efforts to help others, she already feels extremely happy.

Many times, her parents urged her to focus on building a career and taking care of the future with the family's existing economic foundation. Truc Phuong replied: "If I don't earn mone.y today, I will earn it tomorrow; and if I don't help the poor today, I'm not sure if I will meet them again tomorrow to help them." Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police have not provided detailed information about the case related to defendant Nguyen Do Truc Phuong, however, the information about her arrest has surprised many people.
