Quang Nam has issued a red alert regarding the trend of students "raising" Kumanthong dolls to pray for luck and good grades. Authorities warn that this is a superstitious practice with many potentially dangerous consequences.
According to information from the Quang Nam Provincial Police and the provincial Department of Education and Training, many students have sought out Kumanthong dolls through social media, believing that they can bring them luck and fortune. They not only buy the dolls but also perform worship rituals, buy food and drinks to "feed" them in the hope of improving their academic performance.
A typical case in Duy Xuyen district shows that a student "raised" a Kumanthong doll bought online and performed "worship" with the doll every night. The student shared that he found it easier to study after these rituals. Although he did not fully believe in the "power" of the dolls, "raising" them had become a habit.
Experts say the cause of this trend stems from curiosity, lack of understanding of beliefs and increasing pressure to study. The spread of superstitious content on social networks makes the situation even more serious.
Kumanthong dolls are a form of superstition originating in Thailand. Rumors of their "supernatural powers", such as bringing luck, fortune or helping achieve success, have attracted the attention of many people.
However, experts assert that these beliefs are completely unfounded. Kumanthong has no scientific basis and has many potential negative impacts on psychology and mental health. In fact, exploiting children's images to create Kumanthong dolls is a condemnable act.
âRaisingâ Kumanthong dolls is not just a harmless game. According to experts, this behavior can cause serious psychological and social consequences for students. One of the obvious effects is confusion, fear and obsession. Students who regularly participate in doll worship rituals can start to believe in the paranormal, leading to a disconnection from the real world and a feeling of unfounded anxiety.
Focusing too much on "raising" dolls also negatively affects learning. Many children become distracted, lose concentration and fail to complete their homework. This not only affects their learning outcomes but can also lead to stress and depression.
In addition, the cost of purchasing dolls and related items also puts financial pressure on many families. Many students have spent millions of dong to own a Kumanthong doll, which is not only expensive but also makes them vulnerable to bad elements taking advantage of them to continue to buy and sell superstitious products.
Faced with the increasing situation, Quang Nam Provincial Police have requested the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with relevant agencies to increase propaganda and education for students about the harmful effects of "raising" Kumanthong dolls. Schools are required to send written instructions to students on this issue and promptly prevent all superstitious activities.
The Quang Nam Department of Education and Training has also implemented measures to promote and educate about scientific and ethical values in learning, while encouraging students to seek help from their families and teachers when facing difficulties. Superstitious activities will be resolutely prevented in the educational environment to ensure purity and health for students.
Parents need to pay attention and monitor their children's behavior, especially when they show signs of participating in superstitious activities. "Raising" Kumanthong dolls is not a solution to improve their studies or life, and certainly will not help children achieve sustainable success.
