After discovering that customers mistakenly transferred a large amount of money, Mr. Thang, the owner of a snail shop in Hanoi impatiently rushed to the bank near his house to check, and posted the incident on social networks asking for help.
Accordingly, on the morning of August 4, on social networks, sharing information about a couple who went to eat at a restaurant on Ho Tung Mau Street (Hanoi) mistakenly paid the amount of VND 487,000 to VND 487 million, causing a stir.
The article, after being widely shared, has attracted the attention of a large number of netizens. There were many people who praised this action of the owner of the snail bar. However, some said the bar "deliberately created the incident for advertising".
Regarding the above incident, Mr. Thang said that he was surprised that his store's information was shared so quickly on social networks. At the same time, Mr. Thang also affirmed that the above incident was random, not arranged to advertise the store as many people have said.
"I've been running a snail shop for almost 20 years, so I have a steady stream of patrons. Previously, I had a 3,000 m2 store near My Dinh Stadium, recently I moved to Ho Tung Mau Street", Mr. Thang said.
Earlier, late at night on August 3, when he received a notification message on his phone, Mr. Thang took a quick look and saw that the first number was 487 matching the amount, so he continued trading. However, at about 23:00 on the same day, when he cleaned up the shop and checked all the money in the account received during the day, he discovered that he received a sum of nearly 500 million VND, the name of the transferor is V.H.D.
"I was quite jittery and nervous. I even thought I had been scammed because the money was so large that I couldn't sleep all night. I also planned to post on Facebook to find the owner of that account number, but it was late so I left it for the next day," Thang said.
After discovering the mistaken transfer, waiting until noon without seeing the other guest return, Mr. Thang decided to post a forum to find a guest. At the same time, he also checked the information from the bank to see if there were any mistakes. The bank said that it was most likely a mistake on the part of the other customer.
Having obtained Mr. D's phone number, Mr. Thang actively contacted and informed Mr. D of the wrong transfer of a large amount of money from the previous evening. As for Mr. D, the customer mistakenly transferred nearly 500 million VND to the owner of the restaurant, before being contacted by Mr. Thang, Mr. D had never found out about the incident.
"When the other end of the line answered, I asked if you ate my snail yesterday? The other party replied, yes. I told him to check his account, then turned off the phone," Thang added, adding that about 30 seconds later, the customer named Ä Dien said "I transferred the wrong account to you", the owner said.
On the afternoon of August 4, they met at the bank and Mr. Thang refunded the entire amount mistakenly deposited to the customer. The two then both felt relieved, happily leaving.
Mr. D said that on August 4, he was busy at work so he did not have time to review the money in and out of the day. He felt surprised and also very happy when he received Thang's phone call.
In the wake of this rare incident, many people have praised the owner and his wife.
- Great Snail Owner! Although he knew that it was natural to pay, he took the initiative to find customers to pay, seeing that he had good sense! Remaining silent constitutes a crime of misappropriation of property as playing
"Did the other customer try the owner's heart?" Anyway, stories like this make me feel like paying online fees is free!
- Extra 3 zeros must have slipped your hand! I am here selling clothes, once a customer bought a 550k dress to pay 550 VND here, luckily, I woke up holding the customer's hand always on the spot, not knowing whether it was true or deliberate.
