Over the past few days, social networks have been buzzing with the news that a VTV editor suspected of being Khanh Trang made a mistake in reporting on the tense political situation between Thailand and Cambodia, whereby the announcer switched between Vietnam and Thailand.
The incident quickly created a wave of public outrage, and VTV quickly corrected the information. The person most mentioned by netizens is BTV Khanh Trang, known as a veteran presenter of the national television station. This information has not been confirmed by VTV, but many netizens expressed their disappointment because they have loved the female BTV for a long time, because of her emotional reading voice, professional hosting style, both dignified and soft, easy to understand - suitable for an important political news bulletin like the 7pm News. In real life, she stands out with her gentle, elegant beauty, delicate and feminine fashion sense.
With this mistake, the Prime Minister asked VTV to clarify the responsibility for the serious mistake in the news bulletin. Specifically, the Prime Minister asked the General Director of Vietnam Television to direct a review and clarify the responsibility of organizations and individuals related to the serious mistake in the 7 p.m. news bulletin on July 24, 2025.
The Government Office has just issued Document No. 6937/VPCP-TTDT dated July 25, 2025, conveying the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on handling the provision of inaccurate information on the news bulletin of Vietnam Television.
The document stated: "The 7 p.m. news bulletin on July 24, 2025 of Vietnam Television made a mistake, giving incorrect information, and later corrected and apologized for misreading the information in the 11 p.m. news bulletin of the same day."
Assessing this as a serious mistake, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the General Director of Vietnam Television to direct a review, clarify the responsibilities of related organizations and individuals, and strictly handle them according to Party regulations and State laws.
In the immediate future, suspend and transfer those directly involved in the error in the news report on July 25, 2025; review, clarify the motives and causes and strictly handle them according to regulations; carefully review, take corrective measures, and prevent similar errors and incidents from happening; report to the Prime Minister on July 25, 2025.
Also in July 2025, VTV faced three waves of negative public reaction for mispronouncing the Prime Minister's name. Vietnam Television (VTV) officially apologized to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and audiences nationwide. The apology was made after a serious mistake in the program "Aspiration for Development" broadcast on July 4.
Specifically, in episode 3 of the program "Vietnam's Journey of Innovation" broadcast at 8:10 p.m. on VTV1, the production crew misspelled Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's last name. Specifically, Mr. Chinh's name was shown as "Nguyen Minh Chinh".
Immediately after discovering the error, VTV quickly removed the program on all platforms to make corrections. The station also pledged to review the responsibility and strictly handle the individuals and units involved in the error.
Previously on July 3, after news broke that Liverpool striker Diogo Jota had died in a car accident in Spain, VTV's screen displayed the year of his death as 2005 instead of 2025. VTV has made similar mistakes many times before.
In a report on VTV1 in 2016, the producers mistook Princess Huyen Tran for Princess Ngoc Han in her marriage to King Che Man of Cham. Also in the same year, two hosts on VTV1 mistakenly said that Ngo Quyen was the one who "defeated the Yuan-Mongol army three times".
The combination of systematic errors in editing, censorship, link management, and the way the national television station handled the response when there were more or less errors has caused the online community to gradually lose trust.
Military parade to celebrate 30/4: 1 female MC stole the word of a friend, VTV was said to be filmed badly
Bảo Nam16:35:43 02/05/2025On April 30, 2025, a special program took place to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the South and the reunification of the country. In particular, the celebration, parade, and parade are broadcast live on VTV1.
