Social media was recently stirred up by a clip recording the scene of actor Trong Nhan arguing loudly with a banh bo shop owner. The controversy arose because Trong Nhan was accused of "bombing" a banh bo order worth 408 thousand VND, while the actor claimed that he had never confirmed the order.
According to the bakery, Trong Nhan contacted to buy the cake via text message. The store staff then placed an order with a total value of 408 thousand VND. However, when it was time to deliver the goods, the recipient did not answer the phone, causing the order to not be delivered, causing damage to the shop and the shipper. The shop owner posted an "expose" and made public the actor's image and personal information on social media.
However, Trong Nhan's side immediately responded. He affirmed that he only stopped at the step of asking for the price and never confirmed the order. According to the actor, after knowing the total cost, he felt it was unreasonable so he stopped responding. "There was no confirmation from me about agreeing to buy the goods, but the store arbitrarily placed the order and when it failed to deliver, they turned around and blamed me," he said.
In the shared screenshot of the message, Trong Nhan only asked about the types of cakes, then asked for a quote. However, after receiving the price list, he did not respond further. Based on that, many netizens agreed with the actor, saying that the store should not automatically deliver the goods without receiving clear confirmation from the customer, especially when there is no deposit or complete delivery information.
However, there are also opinions that Trong Nhan should have refused outright or announced that he would not buy after receiving the quote, instead of making the store wait and causing misunderstandings.
On the same afternoon, Trong Nhan continued to speak out, saying that the bakery owner not only "exposed" him one-sidedly but also made public his personal information, used insulting language, and seriously affected his honor and image. At the request of his friends, he confirmed that he had made a record of the entire incident and was ready to take the matter to the authorities if he did not receive a public apology from the bakery owner.
On his personal page, Trong Nhan took a tough stance. He specifically named the shop owner as someone who âdidnât know what was wrong,â who had provocative behavior and lacked restraint during the exchange. However, he also apologized to the shop ownerâs mother â who appeared in the controversial clip â because the incident implicated and upset her.
In response, Hoang Son - the owner of the banh bo shop - also made a public post about the incident. Son wrote: "I apologize to my customers. In the incident, I made them scared by posting it. With my sales experience, I also apologize to the shippers if my shop made any mistakes. As for the part about the bombed order, it is not true, my staff can testify."
The owner also explained that the reason for removing the post was because the clip contained a picture of his mother. However, Son still affirmed: "I was not wrong. As I explained in the clip, I said that if you did not take it, you had the right to answer the phone and refuse. The fact that you did not pick up the phone is the reason why we were upset."
He also emphasized that the post was withdrawn not because he admitted his mistake but because he did not want the incident to go too far, causing further impact on his relatives and other guests.
Immediately after Hoang Son's post, Trong Nhan continued to react by taking a screenshot and writing: "If the owner of the banh bo shop is not wrong, then am I wrong?". He also shared a sample apology "suggested" to Hoang Son if he wanted to end the incident peacefully.

Up to now, the incident has not shown any signs of cooling down. Trong Nhan has not received the required apology and has declared that they will pursue the matter to the end if the other party does not proactively clarify their responsibilities.
