In the past few days, many people have talked about winning the jackpot but not being able to receive the prize of Mr. T.K.M. (40 years old, living in Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province).
Mr. M. was the one who bought 10 tickets to play numbers and gave 8 tickets to his relatives, keeping two tickets. After that, the tickets he bought won specially. But unfortunately, the two notes he kept were torn and could not receive the reward.
Up to this point, the people who were given tickets by Mr. M. and won special prizes have received prizes and donated money back to him, a total of about 800 million VND. Mr. M. said that he often buys tickets to play by chance. On the 3rd of the last Tet, he bought 10 sheets with the number 916303 of Hau Giang Construction Company Limited. After that, because he had no red money, he gave tickets to 4 siblings in the house and 3 brothers and sisters in the family, a total of 8 tickets. As for the two sheets, he put them in his pants pocket and went to catch three knots...
"I went to three knots to have a drink with my brothers during Tet, forgetting two tickets," Mr. M. said. In the afternoon, one of the people who was given a ticket to check the results and found out that he had won a special prize, so he ran to find Mr. M.
"At that time, you just went to catch the three knots. Hearing the news of winning the jackpot, he exclaimed, 'It's dead, the ticket in my pants pocket is wet...'. When you took out the wet ticket, it was torn," a nephew who called Mr. M. his uncle recalled. After that, Mr. M. and his family went to many ticket agents in Tra Vinh and were instructed to go back to the commune to make a confirmation, then send it to XSKT Company
However, after arriving at Hau Giang Construction Company Limited, he was refused to pay the prize because the ticket was no longer marked, not intact. Because he could not receive the reward, Mr. M. was depressed, sad and drank a lot because "luck came to his hand but was lost".
However, now he is in good spirits because he thinks that if he doesn't give everyone a ticket, he pockets all 10 tickets and then goes to catch three knots, all the tickets will be torn, no one will win.
"All the brothers and sisters are poor, so after knowing that I could not receive the prize, each winner gave back the money. I plan to use a few hundred million VND from this money to buy a house. I will continue to go to the lake, and soon I will go to Phu Quoc to work," he shared.
According to information in the media, up to this point, the people who were given special winning tickets by Mr. M have received prizes and given him a total of about 800 million VND.
In the past few years, in the West, there have been many thrilling and tragic stories behind jackpot winning tickets, even protracted litigation. And not only Mr. M. but also a number of other cases also won big prizes but "missed" the prize money.
That is the case of Mr. N.V.H. (in Cho Gao district, Tien Giang). Mr. H. once won 100 million VND but did not receive the prize because the ticket was torn in one corner.
It happened in March 2010, when Mr. H. bought a ticket bearing the number 588510 of Kien Giang Radio. After that, his daughter checked the results and found that the winning ticket was 100 million VND. Mr. H. immediately searched his pocket for the ticket, but because the pocket was wet with sweat, the ticket was torn in one corner.
When Mr. H. and his relatives came to the company to receive the prize, the staff after comparing confirmed that he had won the prize but was not eligible to pay the prize because the ticket was torn.
Mr. H. made an application, knocked on the doors of many authorities, but CTY resolutely did not pay the reward. The man then kept the ticket carefully to "make a souvenir".
And Mr. T. (in Dong Thap), while driving a car to rent construction materials in 2013, saw a very poor child selling tickets, so he bought a ticket for him. In the afternoon, he took off his clothes to wash as usual, not remembering the ticket in his pocket.
The next day, the ticket seller came to the house, informing him that Mr. T. had won the prize of 30 million VND. At this time, he found the ticket in his pocket but it was soaked, so he dried it. After that, the ticket was not torn, the numbers were still readable.
After using an iron to iron the ticket flat, Mr. T. brought it to CTY to receive the prize. But through comparison, the company's employees refused to pay on the grounds that the adjacent wooden mark on the ticket was blurred.
