After hearing the news that Ngoc Chau’s biological mother suddenly passed away due to a traffic accident, neighbors were shocked and saddened. On the morning of August 14, an atmosphere of sadness filled the houses of residents in Tan Dong hamlet, Tan Hung commune, Tay Ninh.

Right from the small alley leading to the house of Mrs. Dang Thi Gai - Miss Ngoc Chau's mother, the mourning flag was hung up, and everyone around was no longer laughing and talking as usual. Everyone sat in a daze in front of a breakfast shop owned by Ms. Hien, talking about the unfortunate incident that had happened.

"Miss Gai also often comes here for breakfast. We all love her family. Yesterday, when we heard the news that she passed away on her way home from work in the fields, everyone was shocked. Yesterday afternoon, I also went in to burn incense for her. At that time, only Chau's older sister was home, Chau had not returned yet. I felt sorry for the sisters....", Ms. Hien choked up as she recounted.

Locals also said that, despite being the mother of a beauty queen, Ms. Gai lives a very simple life. She still wakes up early in the morning, wears casual clothes, wears slippers and rides an old motorbike that has been around for many years. Not to mention, she often goes to the fields to look after sugarcane, cassava, rubber... and then runs back.

No one thought that Ngoc Chau’s mother would have an accident on the way home because she usually drives very well, is healthy and has no illness. Ms. Hong, a close neighbor of the 9x beauty queen’s family, said:

"The girl is very friendly with everyone, she smiles at everyone all the time. If other people's daughters become Misses, they will be distant, but not the girl. The house is still the same, the motorbike is still the same, if you don't say anything, no one will know she is the mother of the Miss...".

Ms. Hanh said: "Yesterday my husband told us that Chau's mother passed away, we were so shocked. Everyone feels sorry for Chau and her sisters, and for Mrs. Gai. She was a few years younger than me, but she passed away so suddenly." It is known that Ms. Hanh's house is next to Luong Dinh Cua Primary School - where Ngoc Chau and her three sisters study.

Her husband has been the direct teacher of Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 for many years. In Ms. Hanh's memory, the 9x beauty queen was a lovely girl, taller than her peers since childhood, and very studious.

"Chau is a very hard-working and studious girl. As for Mrs. Gai, we have known her for a long time. She worked hard to raise her children and we feel sorry for her. She did not dare to spend anything on herself, and saved up all her earnings to send to her children for their education. Now that her children are successful, she still refuses to rest and enjoy her old age, she just keeps working in the fields," Ms. Hanh said sadly.

Regarding the accident that caused the death of Miss Ngoc Chau's mother, the Traffic Police Department of Tay Ninh Province recently had initial information about the incident. Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, a representative of the Traffic Police Department of Tay Ninh Province said that the accident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on August 13 at the intersection of traffic lights on Provincial Road 785.

This provincial road is an asphalt road in Tan Hoa hamlet, Tan Phu commune (Tan Chau district). At this time, Ms. Dang Thi Gai was driving her motorbike from Tan Chau town to Tan Phu commune People's Committee. When approaching the intersection, a bus with license plate 70H-050.xx, driven by Vo Tan Thanh (born in 1989, residing in Tan Chau district) was going in the opposite direction, slowing down to stop at a red light.

Suddenly, Ms. Gai was driving her motorbike in the opposite direction, swerving from right to left, and hitting the front of the bus. The collision left her dead. "The initial cause of the accident was Ms. Gai's sudden change of direction. Before changing direction, Ms. Gai's motorbike did not collide with any other vehicle," he shared.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 13, Miss Ngoc Chau's representative announced that her mother had suddenly passed away. "Miss Ngoc Chau's family has just experienced a huge loss. During this time, Miss Ngoc Chau would like to temporarily suspend all activities and postpone planned plans, to spend time with her family during this difficult period.
