Although this woman in Tien Giang has not finished first grade and cannot even write, she possesses the ability to compose literature day and night. Sometimes, lines of poetry keep running through her head, and Ms. Dieu has to ask her husband to write them all down on paper.
If she cannot do it, she feels unusually tired. Now, after 10 years of writing poetry, Ms. Dieu (53 years old) living in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province makes many people admire her special talent for literary art.
Regardless of day or night, at home or on the street, Ms. Dieu "inspired by the situation" creates many poems with positive messages, both criticizing and expressing humanistic values, towards truth - goodness - beauty. What makes people find it even harder to believe is that this woman in her 60s has never been to school, and cannot even read or write.
Although she did not finish first grade, this woman can write literature and knows all the poems she has written. Previously, due to difficult economic conditions and a large family, Ms. Dieu studied first grade for a few months and had to put her dream of going to school aside. After that, Ms. Dieu stayed at home to help her mother with the household chores. It was not until she moved in with her husband, Mr. Sau, that this woman was educated and taught basic reading and writing.
However, due to her advanced age and having not touched books for over 40 years, Ms. Dieu's ability to absorb knowledge is difficult. However, 10 years ago, she fell in love with literature when she experienced some unbelievable phenomena in life. She said that one afternoon in March, she began to feel tired and restless, many thoughts kept overlapping each other, making the woman in her 60s feel restless and uncomfortable.
Uncle Sau is a man who loves his wife and is willing to sacrifice staying up late to copy poetry and prose because he knows that if he does not do so, his wife's health will decline seriously. Uncle Sau said that he has taken his wife to many places for treatment but they still cannot find the disease.
Then, she turned to her husband for help: "Take out some paper and write it down. I'll read these sentences to you. Take notes for me." Then, her writing flowed like a waterfall. The wife read, the husband diligently took notes, and in just a few minutes, a poem was completed. Immediately, Ms. Dieu felt relieved, her body became excited and healthy as usual.
Ms. Dieu said that her inspiration for writing comes from things and events happening around her. In particular, if she witnesses wrongdoings, the words in Ms. Dieu's head just flow out into poems that criticize reality and contain a message reminding people to always strive for goodness. To date, she has published hundreds of poems of different lengths, which her husband has recorded and carefully kept.
"There are nights when I'm sleeping and poems suddenly flow into my mind. I wake up, turn on the light and ask my husband to write them down. Otherwise, I will never be able to sleep," Ms. Dieu revealed. Sometimes, even when she's sleeping soundly, she wakes up to write poems.
Ms. Dieu often uses 7-word verse for her compositions. People cannot help but admire her precise and meaningful rhyming like a real writer.
Because of his love and concern for his wife's health, sometimes at 1-2am, Uncle Sau would wake up and hurriedly take out his notebook to write down notes. "I myself don't understand my wife's strange phenomenon. Sometimes she would get in the mood and want to go for a walk, so we would get in the car and drive around the neighborhood. I still remember that time, when we passed the buffalo kiln, my wife asked me to stop the car immediately to write a poem. At that time, I only brought a pen, no notepad. I had to write on my foot and then go home to copy it down" - Uncle Sau recalled the unforgettable moment when he accompanied his wife anytime, anywhere, helping his partner write down emotional verses.
At first, Ms. Dieu intended to throw away her manuscripts of poems and writings, but because of the regret of waking up early at night to write, Mr. Sau still decided to keep them, bound them into a book, and kept many copies. Not only that, Ms. Dieu could remember all the poems she had ever composed, and read them clearly without looking at the paper. Even her first poem, written 10 years ago, Ms. Dieu could recite each verse exactly by just mentioning the first sentence.
The special ability of the U60 woman is known by many people and spread throughout the province. Some people even traveled far to visit Ms. Dieu's house to confide, listen to her poetry and witness the carefully recorded poems. In addition, Mr. Sau revealed that his wife had been invited by many poets in Tien Giang to join the province's poetry clubs. However, Ms. Dieu refused because she wanted a leisurely life and did not seek fame or fortune.
