Duong Quy Phi passed away tragically, what was the cause?

Yang Guifei was known as the most beautiful woman of the Tang Dynasty, but not because she was "slender and thin". She had a plump body and her weight shocked many people.
Yang Guifei, real name Yang Yuhuan (June 22, 719 - July 15, 756) was born in Shu County (now Chengdu - Sichuan Province), originally from Bozhou (now the suburbs of Xi'an City - Shaanxi Province), also known by the nickname Taizhen. She was beautiful, good at singing, dancing and knowledgeable about music theory. She was a musician and dancer in the imperial court during the Tang Dynasty. Her musical talent was rare among concubines in history and was praised by later generations as one of the four great beauties of ancient China.
It is known that Duong Ngoc Hoan was originally the concubine of Prince Tho, the 18th son of Duong Huyen Tong. However, Duong Huyen Tong (Ly Long Co) also loved her and was determined to marry her. In the fourth year of Thien Bao, Duong Ngoc Hoan was appointed as Duong Huyen Tong's concubine.
The undeniable truth is that Yang Yuhuan had been married twice. If she had not been so beautiful that she could topple a kingdom, Emperor Xuanzong would not have risked the world's infamy to take her as his concubine. Surprisingly, according to some historical records, Yang Yuhuan was 160 cm tall and weighed 138 kg. Other records say she was 155 cm tall and weighed 120 kg.
However, recently, Chinese historians have turned to the records describing Yang Guifei. Accordingly, Yang Guifei was about 164 to 168cm tall, weighed about 65kg, not as fat as in the paintings. However, this cannot be verified because at that time there were no medical examination records.
It is said that when Emperor Xuanzong of Tang was over 60, he could still carry Yang Guifei, which shows that she might not be as fat as rumored. Otherwise, how could she "turn around and smile so charmingly that all the beauties in the harem turned pale"! Not to mention, she was also a dancer and musician, if she really weighed over a hundred kilos, it would be difficult to move, let alone dance.
Perhaps, Yang Guifei was just a little plumper than normal people. Even the poet Bai Juyi, in his poem "Chang Han Ca" did not say it clearly, but also had a verse that impliedly described her plumpness: "On tuyen thuy hoat giai ngung chi" (meaning the ho.t spring water flows away accumulated fat).
During her lifetime, Yang Guifei was greatly favored by Emperor Xuanzong of Tang. Even after she entered the palace, the Emperor actually abolished tens of thousands of concubines and only favored her for 11 years.
During Emperor Xuanzong's reign, only the Empress was allowed to sleep in the same bed as the Emperor. Otherwise, after being favored, she would be sent back to the palace. But it was different with Yang Guifei. Emperor Xuanzong hugged her to sleep every night. So why didn't she give birth to a chil.d for the Emperor?
The first reason is that Yang Guifei may have been sick but hid it, because Emperor Xuanzong of Tang had dozens of children, but after remarrying her, he did not have even one "chil.d". More importantly, Li Mao - Yang Guifei's ex-husband later gave birth to 5 more sons and 2 daughters with his next wife, proving that Li Mao had no fertility problems.
Duong Ngoc Hoan could not give birth to a chil.d for Ly Mao, or for Duong Huyen Tong, most likely due to her own inability to give birth!
According to legend, although Yang Guifei was as beautiful as a flower, she suffered from severe underarm odor. In order to cover up her body odor, in addition to being extremely fond of bathing, Yang Guifei also frequently used perfume to cover up her body odor. Just think, the emperor's most favored concubine had an unpleasant body odor. If others found out, it would be embarrassing for the royal family, and even cause her to lose the emperor's favor.
But the problem is that one of the main ingredients of the perfume is Musk. Musk, although fragrant, makes women unable to reproduce. If used for a long time, the consequences are unimaginable. This is very likely the reason why Yang Guifei could not have children during her long period of being the only one in the world.
The second reason, Yang Guifei also knew that she was loved because she was very beautiful, a good dancer, and at the same time, as she got older, her body became fatter and her ski.n became darker and darker, she might have been afraid of falling out of favor, so she often asked someone to make a medicine to preserve her youth forever. And this medicine would definitely damage Yang Guifei's body, especially her ovaries, making it even more difficult to get pregnant in the future.
The third reason was that Yang Guifei and Emperor Xuanzong of Tang were very compatible. They liked to play chess, write poems, and drink. Whenever they were happy, Yang Guifei would drink, and would even get drunk all night. This was very harmful to a woman's body, so after a long time, she really couldn't get pregnant again!
Although Yang Guifei could not give birth to children for Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, it did not affect Emperor Xuanzong's favor for her. From the words in Du Mu's poem: "One rides a red dust concubine's smile, no one knows where tears come from" we can see that in order to get Yang Guifei's smile, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang did not mind the difficulty and ordered someone to go to the South to buy the fabric that Yang Guifei liked the most.
Therefore, whether Yang Guifei could give birth or not was not important. What was important was that even though she was infertile, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang was still infatuated with her and favored her as before. But in addition to the above factors, there were also some unknown reasons. In the end, how could everything in the harem be recorded clearly?
