Recently, Doan Di Bang and his wife were called out by the online community for the story of promising to build houses for the homeless but not doing so. As soon as the controversy broke out, people were curious about the origin of this couple's huge fortune.
What products make you rich?
The couple's success comes from their family's cosmetics business, along with the Hanayuki brand.
According to research, initially, the legal entity behind Hanayuki was VB Universal Trading and Service Company Limited. It was established in March 2017 with a charter capital of 9 billion VND, the main business is wholesale of other household items (except pharmaceutical business).
The legal representative at that time was Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Thuy (born in 1989, also known as Doan Di Bang).
Notably, after just over 4 years of "birth", VB Universal was "terminated" with the last owner being Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu.
In the same year 2021, Mr. Vu continued to establish another company to take over Hanayuki's business, which is VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited, with a charter capital of 8 billion VND.
Businessman Nguyen Quoc Vu is the company's legal representative and General Director.
With the new legal entity, the Hanayuki brand has emerged rapidly, increasingly attracting the attention of women. Similar to other competitors in the same industry, Hanayuki's revenue mainly comes from sources such as wholesale to agents, online sales via web platforms and Tiktok shops. However, all data on these sales are not made public.
Besides, Tiktok shop is also showing its role as an effective promotional channel for Hanayuki and Doan Di Bang's couple.
Actively building her personal image and brand, Doan Di Bang owns a Tiktok channel with 1.8 million followers. Based on that, she regularly promotes the brand she founded, as well as retails Hanayuki products.
According to the display, Doan Di Bang's Tiktok shop has sold about 121,600 products, with the best-selling items being: Sunscreen, cleaning solution, lip balm and mask...
In general, the products cost an average of 150,000 - 200,000 VND. Thus, Doan Di Bang's Tiktok shop may have recorded revenue of about 18.2 billion VND - 24.3 billion VND. Her shop does not apply a commission sharing policy for KOLs, so it will only have a 5% fee from Tiktok.
It is estimated that her sales channel on Tiktok will only earn 17.3 billion VND - 23 billion VND in revenue so far (not including costs, marketing, labor, etc.). Therefore, the origin of the huge fortune of Doan Di Bang and her husband is still a big question mark.
Villas, supercars: Suspected of living a virtual life
For a long time, the formula for success for entrepreneurs emerging from social networks has been to build a personal brand, an image of a rich life, spending a lot of money, and of course, making shocking statements.
Likewise, Doan Di Bang and her husband always post photos and statuses to show off their assets such as luxury cars, villas..., appealing to the curiosity of the online community.
Showing off billion-dollar houses and luxury cars is no longer strange. However, many businessmen in the past have also been exposed for borrowing money to promote themselves and their companies in order to "herd chickens".
In 2016, the media also mentioned that Doan Di Bang and Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu mortgaged their Mercedes Benz at the bank.
In 2021, businessman Nguyen Quoc Vu and Doan Di Bang posted an announcement that they had successfully ordered a pink Rolls Royce supercar. However, people discovered something unusual: up to now, this Rolls Royce has not been seen anywhere.
Last year, the female tycoon couple caused a stir among netizens when they were suspected of living a virtual life and showing off their wealth, but in reality, it was not as they said.
In particular, this female tycoon shocked everyone by declaring that she would spend up to 6 million USD for Thai Cong to design and complete her villa. She said that she had borrowed money from the bank and paid each installment over a fixed period of time, and that the 6 million USD would be divided into several payments.
According to research, in February 2024, this couple mortgaged the house purchase contract at the Amelie project for a credit of 30 billion VND. Previously, Doan Di Bang caused a storm after closing the deal in the "musical round" of a 24 billion VND villa, located at Amelie villa, Phu My Hung urban area, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
Coincidentally, 1 month after the mortgage, the couple bought a Lamborghini Urus Performante supercar at the Lamborghini showroom in Ho Chi Minh City. On his personal Facebook page, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu said that the value of the car was 21 billion VND, not the 18 billion VND that netizens speculated.
In addition to the Urus, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu also "rewarded" himself with a Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini 2024, a limited edition with only 630 units worldwide. The value of this motorbike is estimated at about 2.4 billion VND.
