Walking in the Bright Sky is "making waves" on VTV's prime time, thanks to the appeal of its young cast. Among them, the male lead Chai, played by Long Vu, is the character that receives much love from the audience. The actor is the son of artist Van Dung.
In a recent TV interview, Van Dung said that because she liked watching VTV's Magic Hat program hosted by MC Long Vu, after giving birth, she gave her son this name.
"After knowing the story, MC Long Vu also texted me and asked: "Does Van Dung love me that she named her child Long Vu?", the female artist humorously recounted.
Van Dung also did not hesitate to "badmouth" her son, such as Long Vu who was often late, the homeroom teacher who lost points in the competition, the language teacher at the Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema - where Long Vu used to study - had to call Van Dung because her student was nowhere to be seen when it was time for the exam. Therefore, she often had to call her son to go to school.
"At home, Long Vu's father plays the good role, but outside, I'm the one who plays the bad role, to the point that my son puts his mother's phone number in the name "Come home now", the female artist said. Long Vu also said that every time Van Dung's mother calls him, the first sentence will be "Vu, where are you? Come home now" so he saves his mother's name in his phone like that!
Artist Van Dung said that right after graduating, Long Vu was very eager and proactive in going to the casting (audition) for the film. Vu went to the casting himself, the female artist did not know about the film and did not influence it in any way.
"After graduating from university, Long Vu stayed home and waited for a casting call. He often asked why he wasn't called to act in a movie. Was he so ugly that no one invited him to act in a movie, Mom?"
I just said: "Calm down, son. Artists like Cong Ly, Quang Thang, Truong Giang, are not handsome but still make movies because of their ability and charm," artist Van Dung recounted.
Van Dung said that when she knew her son wanted to take the entrance exam to the Acting Department of the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema, she advised him that this profession is very hard and poor, and if he does not have real talent, it will be very difficult.
Second, you have to be really good, otherwise the profession will be eliminated very quickly, but her son is determined to follow the profession. Currently, she is also excited with each step of growing up with her son.
The female artist said: "Acting is a "made-for-all" profession. Even if you want to support this profession, if the audience doesn't love you, it will be very difficult to survive. You have to have real ability to be able to do this job for a long time. If you are a "son of a boss" and don't have talent, it will be very difficult to do this job."
The female comedian recounted that Long Vu is a very emotional person who knows how to care for his mother. Wherever he goes, he has a habit of buying his mother small things. "When I perform and get paid, I give it all to my mother. When I received my first salary, Long Vu gave my mother a gold necklace that touched me to the point of tears," Van Dung said about her son. In addition, Chai of Di giua troi ruc ru is a rather simple person. Although he is the son of a famous artist, Long Vu does not dress up or wear trendy clothes.
She confided: "Vu never asked his mother to buy him anything. He doesn't know how to use branded goods. Many times when I saw that he had very few clothes, I gave him money to buy them but he didn't take them. He only had 2 pairs of pants and 2 pairs of shoes to change, he rode every car he was given without asking for anything. Once, his sandals were torn, he even asked his grandmother to take them to the market to sew them up so he could wear them again."
Van Dung also shared that if her son gets married in the future, she will not live with her daughter-in-law but live separately so that her son and his wife can be independent. Furthermore, due to the generation gap, she will not interfere in the way her son and his wife raise their grandchildren. "I also hope that my son will find a woman who loves him. I am not a difficult mother-in-law. If I love my daughter-in-law, my children will love me," she confided.
Long Vu was born in 2001, the son of artist Van Dung. He graduated from Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema. Before participating in "Di giua troi ruc ro", Long Vu had appeared in films such as "Loi nho vao doi", "Gia dinh minh vui bat thuc luong", "Khong han ve chi mot dua", "Cuoc chien khong quan tien".
Having also made an impression when playing the role of Cuong - a playful, competitive, and rebellious village boy in "The War Without Borders", the audience commented that it was not until "Walking in the Glorious Sky" that Long Vu truly broke through in his acting and attracted attention. Despite shining and impressing as he is now, few people know that in the past, Long Vu was self-conscious about his appearance.
Artist Van Dung once shared that, every time he failed a casting, Long Vu blamed it on his ugliness so he wasn't accepted. Once he asked: "Mom, why did you give birth to me when I'm so ugly? Or is it because I'm so ugly that no one accepts me when I go to castings? Mom, is it because you gave birth to me because I'm ugly like my dad that no one invited me for 4 years of school?"
In response to that question, the female artist pointed out what her son was lacking, then encouraged him to continue going to castings. And so, he enthusiastically went to castings, but when he failed, his face drooped and he blamed it on his ugliness.
