"The first episodes of the film were mostly filmed in Nguyen Binh (Cao Bang). Not only did they exploit contemporary issues, the film was also inspired by the beauty of the country's nature combined with the unique traditional cultural features of the Dao ethnic group. I think that when VTV's film determined its purpose about the Dao ethnic group, from the producer to the director and actors, they had to research and learn very carefully about the people.

I read many comments from the audience that they are Dao people when watching "Going in the middle of a brilliant sky" and felt uncomfortable because the film crew was making mistakes about Dao culture.
