Collision of 2 mothers and children in Binh Duong, truck driver encroached on lane, forced motorbike taxi, arrested

After the collision, the truck driver turned himself in to the police. As reported, at around 2:00 p.m. the same day, a motorbike taxi driver named Tran Xuan Bao (49 years old, residing in Thu Duc City) was carrying a woman and a b.oy on My Phuoc - Tan Van road, from Tan Van intersection to National Highway 1K.

When arriving at the traffic light intersection with Chau Thoi Street (Binh An Ward, Di An City, Binh Duong Province), it collided with a truck with license plate 50H-146.42 running in the same direction on the left. The collision caused three people on the vehicle to fall onto the road, the woman and the b.oy were crushed and died on the spot, the motorbike taxi driver was lucky to escape but was in a state of extreme panic.

At the scene, the two victims were lying on the side of the road, the motorbike was lying on the side of the road, the truck stopped a few meters away. Upon receiving the report, Di An City police were present to regulate traffic and examine the scene. Ms. S. has a husband, Mr. TVB (a tractor driver) and 1 son and 1 daughter, living happily in a house on Bui Thi Xuan Street (Tan Binh Ward, Di An City, Binh Duong). Ms. S. is a teacher at a junior high school in Linh Xuan Ward, Thu Duc City (HCMC). The b.oy was about to enter first grade, and was on summer vacation so he and his mother went on a tractor-trailer driven by his father.

After the farewell trip on the afternoon of August 10, Mr. B. lost his wife and c.hild, and his l.ittle g.irl TTBL (preparing to enter 7th grade) lost her mother and younger brother. An atmosphere of grief enveloped the small house on Bui Thi Xuan Street. A few minutes before the tragic collision, Mr. B. drove a tractor trailer carrying his wife and c.hild to Tan Van intersection (Di An City), then let the mother and c.hild off the vehicle, and the husband continued his journey. Ms. S. and her c.hild said goodbye to her husband and took a motorbike taxi home.

The car had only been going for a few minutes when it reached the traffic light at the intersection of My Phuoc - Tan Van and Chau Thoi Street (Binh An Ward) when a truck with a HCMC license plate crossed the lane, causing a collision that k.illed the mother and c.hild. Two days after the tragic collision, on the morning of August 12, the funeral of Ms. S. (37 years old) and her 6-year-old son L was held at a small house in alley 700/35/1 Bui Thi Xuan, Tan Thang quarter, Tan Binh ward, Di An city, amid the grief and sorrow of the family and neighbors. The atmosphere of mourning enveloped the once peaceful alley.

Since early morning, colleagues, friends, neighbors and even students of Ms. S. have come here to burn incense and offer condolences to the family. Amidst the white wreaths covering from the outside gate to the inside of the house, most of the people attending the funeral could not hold back their tears. People living in the alley are still in s.hock, everyone is heartbroken by the sudden and p.ainful passing of Ms. S. and her c.hild.

Standing next to the coffin of his wife and children, the man who was both a father and a husband tried to hold back his tears but could not hold back his sobs. Perhaps, he had never experienced such great pain and loss in his life. In just one afternoon, he lost both his wife and his young son who was about to start first grade. Sharing with us, Mr. Tran Van Tien (Ms. S.'s father-in-law) shared, "S. is my daughter-in-law who delivers food to her husband - her husband is a container truck driver."

Many relatives, friends, colleagues, and neighbors also came to offer condolences to the family and burn incense before saying goodbye to Ms. S. and her children.

Recalling the day of the tragic collision, Mr. Tien said that on that day, Ms. S. and her daughter went to deliver food to her husband when unfortunately they got into an a.ccident. "That day, the mother and daughter went to deliver food to her husband and father. Normally, the mother and daughter usually ride a motorbike, but that day they took a motorbike taxi. The older daughter at home did not know what happened. When it was time to go to school, she did not see her mother come home, so she called her father and he said that her mother had been in an a.ccident. It was so sad. The nephew was only 6 years old, had just started first grade, and had already prepared his uniform."
