In recent times, the hobby of collecting stuffed animals called Labubu and related products has become a "hot trend" among young people. The price of this toy has continuously increased from a few hundred thousand VND to millions of VND per animal. Eating according to the trend, many people are quick to do Labubu business through personal pages on social networks. However, there have also been many cases of bad actors, attracting many people to make deposits and then blocking the number or deleting the sales page and personal page.
Ms. N T Y (living in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) said: "I also play TikTok, so I often follow trends on social networks to make video clips to attract views and increase interaction. Realizing that many people are obsessed with collecting Labubu stuffed animals, I ordered one online worth nearly 6 million VND. Because I was so fascinated and the owner of this page was afraid that the goods were very rare and would be sold to others, I hurriedly paid the above amount. The next morning still did not receive the goods, the shop owner continued to make an appointment 2-3 more times but still did not have it, after that he could not contact him. I am very worried about how to solve this case."
Ms. T V (living in Hoc Mon, Ho Chi Minh City) also recounted her unfortunate case: "I saved up for a long time before I dared to order a Labubu. I had already transferred the deposit, but by the time I received the goods, opened it, oh my gosh, it was a broken pair of old shoes. When I contacted him, the Facebook owner asked me to return the goods without further explanation, and the deposit was silent."
If people detect related activities, they should quickly contact the Police to report, provide information, and support the Police to conduct verification, investigation and handling according to regulations.
Form of reporting: Reporting directly at the nearest Police office; make phone calls or send reports by post to the Police office; report via the VNeID application. The identity of the informant will be kept confidential by the Police (if the informant requests).
