Young people are "psychologically manipulated" by the "language disorder" trend on TikTok. The trend has caused a "fever" on social networks recently. However, this trend that is meant to poke fun at does inadvertently create additional pressure on those who are unfortunate enough to suffer.
Recently, a new trend that young people are interested in TikTok has created "unique" viral videos called "language disorders". Specifically, the content of these trending clips is confusing dialogue and sentence syntax, thereby creating countless situations that make viewers "laugh out of tears".
The above funny "trend" is originated from the creativity and cooperation of two TikTokers @phudb2003 (Tuong Hong Phu) and @gjbao (Gia Bao). Both are members of the "Purple Flower" team with over 6.3 million followers on TikTok.
The videos show off their acting abilities along with "brain-hacking" dialogue of viewers. TikTokers have transformed into characters such as kidnappers, students, teachers... This creates excitement for viewers when they are accidentally caught up in the disorder as well as challenge themselves to find the true meaning of the dialogue.
Soon after being posted, the video received a lively reaction from netizen:
- I went shopping and met the staff, so I probably didn't come back, stayed and listened to the consultant laugh.
- Save me now, look at this guy, I'm cast.
Videos with humorous content with dialogue "talk about where to laugh there". Many TikTokers also "swing" the "multiverse" version of language disorder. Many famous TikTokers such as Wang Qing, LITTLE FOX or HERO TEAM... also "catches the trend" creatively and impressively not inferior to the original.
Language disorders, which include language development disorders (DLD), speech communication disorders (SLIs) or expressive language disorders (ELD), affect how a person hears, speaks, read, and write and makes it difficult for them to communicate, learn and work.
Friend B.N.A gave the reason why this topic quickly exploded on TikTok: " GenZ students love clutter, surprise, disruption so replacing the original verse with catchphrases like "The apple of the cage", "There is iron sharpening that has a day to go", "Healthy leaves cover the spleen"... help you show youthfulness and humor."
Friend H.T.N shared: "The trend of language disorder makes the images and stories more unique, everyone can regain the "mood" after a long day through just short videos".
However, besides young people responding to this trend, many people expressed their attitude, even somewhat against the above online phenomenon. The reason is because a large number of followers of the above TikTokers are elementary and middle school students who have not mastered Vietnamese, so they are easily affected by camp speech and grammatical errors.
Regarding deliberately changing, cutting, combing, joining, combining words, V.M.Ä said: "For me, this trend will partly affect language teaching. A specific example is when asking the filling question to young people: "Industrious..." You'll probably get the answer to be 'diligent' instead of 'smart' â gradually forming quick reflexes, which can easily cause confusion."
The fact that pathology becomes a joke trend increases the pressure on those who have a slurred speech disability, difficult to express. As a person with a language disorder, or misrepresenting the content you want to convey, P.T.T. expressed: "Those of you with speech disorder like me can be hurt, guilty because of the feeling that the whole community is focused on your shortcomings. For me, dissecting a 'pathology' and then replacing the name with a 'trend' is something I don't want."
The perspective of friends hurt by the trend reminds us to learn to moderate, to stand in the position of others to feel, to adjust the line between a joke and ridicule. Learn about the "original version" to make sure your creativity brings interesting associations and uses the right context.
