Recently, the online community paid much attention to TikToker Le Tuan Khang (born 2002, Soc Trang) when he attended the casting of the movie L.Turn Face 8 by director Ly Hai.
Before that, he was known to many people with his TikTok channel of 3.8 million followers with humorous and cheerful clips about the rustic life in the West. Not only that, Tuan Khang also scored points with his good-looking appearance, honest and sincere personality, so his clips all reached tens of millions of views.
However, Tuan Khang mainly acts by instinct, without any experience or formal training in acting. Therefore, in his first casting, the male TikToker also determined that the chance of getting the role was 0%. Director Ly Hai also frankly commented that he was not suitable for the male lead role in the film because he needed to know how to sing and dance. However, with his honest personality, Tuan Khang still impressed Ly Hai and if there was a suitable supporting role, he would let him try.
But recently, social networks "exploded" when MC Tran Thanh unexpectedly discovered that Tuan Khang was praised by MC Tran Thanh. Accordingly, the male MC went to Tuan Khang's personal page, watched a clip posted in 2023 and left a comment: "You are so good!". Immediately, this comment attracted the attention of netizens and was liked "liked" a lot.
Many people sent congratulations to Tuan Khang for being noticed and recognized by Tran Thanh for his talent. Not only that, people also speculated that after this comment, Tuan Khang might be invited by the male MC to audition for one of his upcoming films.
Although it is just a rumor, people also expressed that the fact that a TikToker like Tuan Khang was praised by a famous artist must have "no ordinary" talent. Moreover, the audience also believes that Tran Thanh's eye for people is very accurate, he rarely leaves public comments like that, so it is very possible that Tuan Khang will be a potential name and develop more in the future.
Some comments from the online community: "I've never seen Tran Thanh comment on anyone's TikTok. So congratulations to Khang, it's a good sign anyway", "I have to admit that this guy is good, fun to watch and very creative. Who knows, maybe he'll have the chance to make a movie with Tran Thanh", "I wish someone would have a supporting role for this guy in a Tet movie. He looks very charming. And if Tran Thanh praises him, he must be talented", "Going to the casting for Ly Hai's movie, Tran Thanh praised him on TikTok. He's the best Tuan Khang, it's a waste not to be an actor", "I like this guy because of his simplicity, honesty, every clip is fun to watch. I hope directors can give him a chance to shine".
When he first started TikTok, Tuan Khang emerged as a phenomenon with a sharp increase in followers. He once shared about his past when he grew up in the countryside, without conditions to develop, so he had to make a living by doing many jobs. "Since I was young, I dropped out of school early and followed my parents to herd ducks. But my parents found it too hard, so they told me to go to Ho Chi Minh City to work in a wood company. I've done all kinds of manual work, from light to heavy. But the most common job is at a wood company. I work in a factory during the day, and at night I drive a motorbike taxi to earn extra money," Tuan Khang shared.
However, after the pandemic, in 2022, Tuan Khang returned to his hometown and helped his parents raise a flock of about 3,000 ducks. In his spare time, he filmed TikTok videos for fun, but they became more and more viral, so he tried his hand at being a content creator. This job also helped Tuan Khang's life and income change somewhat and he became more known and loved by everyone.
The clips recorded by Tuan Khang often revolve around the rustic life in the Mekong Delta - something that many people "desire but can hardly have". Khang's content about his hometown received 31 million likes.
Khang shared about a working day of nearly 20 hours to make a living: "Waking up at 3:30 am to drive to get as many trips as possible. Returning to the wood company at around 8:30 am and working until 4:30 pm. After that, I rested a bit and then got on my bike to drive again. Driving passengers around Saigon until the roads were less crowded, I went home to shower and eat. By then, it was almost 11 pm. Life was like that for 2 years. My parents saw that it was too hard so they told me to go back to my hometown. The money I spent each day was only a few tens of thousands for bread and a simple meal."
Working many jobs made Khang realize even more: "Because I didn't study, now I have to work for hire and it's so hard."
