On social media, Hong Van took a photo of herself holding a patient's hand with a status asking everyone to pray for her quick recovery. Below the comments, many artists and audiences also wished peace to actor Phuoc Sang.
Last night, actor Phuoc Sang was hospitalized in a coma. Accordingly, Phuoc Sang's eldest son discovered his father unconscious at his home and quickly took him to Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for emergency treatment. Faced with the sudden news, many artists came to the hospital to visit and encourage Phuoc Sang and his family.
On social networks, at midnight on August 15 and early morning on August 16, many famous artists such as Hong Van, Dam Vinh Hung, Cat Tuong... also sent prayers to Phuoc Sang. In which, artist Hong Van posted a photo holding hands with a patient with the caption: "He made a pinky promise and promised to get well, please ask his friends, colleagues and audience to pray for our friend, we will overcome this ordeal, I hope you get well soon, keep your promise".
Below the post, singer Dam Vinh Hung also left a comment: "Everyone wishes him good health and peace, including me and my brother." MC and actress Cat Tuong also sent her wishes for actor Phuoc Sang to recover quickly.
It is known that since his health declined, actor Phuoc Sang has suffered three strokes, the most recent of which was in March 2024. After recovering, Phuoc Sang did not have time to rest but focused on work. He accepted to be a guest on a number of TV shows with other colleagues. In early August, director Trung Lun also revealed that Phuoc Sang took on a guest role in the movie "Getting Rich with Ghosts 2".
Famous in the entertainment industry, however, Phuoc Sang has had a difficult love life. He went bankrupt when he tried his hand at real estate business. After this incident, Phuoc Sang's marriage with his wife also fell apart. The actor himself has faced many difficulties over the past decade, suffering from a lot of pressure from his mind to his health. Later, Phuoc Sang remarried and lived a more private life.
During the days of facing illness, Phuoc Sang said that the care of his children was what made him feel most comforted. Phuoc Sang's 17-year-old eldest son was the one who directly took care of, bathed, and cleaned his father during the days he was in the hospital and recovering from his illness. Not only that, Phuoc Sang's son also fed him and reminded him to take his medicine on time. "When I encountered a health incident, I clearly saw my son's filial piety and understanding. This is the spiritual motivation that helped me overcome this difficult period. I cherish this life and will try to recover to take care of them," Phuoc Sang confided that what worries him most are his children.
Phuoc Sang, the younger brother of director Luu Huynh, began his artistic career while still in school, when he participated in pantomime and comedy in the drama troupe of the District 6 Cultural House, Ho Chi Minh City. In 1990, he founded the 135 Hai Ba Trung comedy stage, followed by the Saigon Drama Stage (1998) and the Nam Quang Drama Stage (2002). In the same year 2002, he founded Phuoc Sang Film Studio, which quickly became one of the prominent private film brands.
In the 2000s, Phuoc Sang was known as the "King of Tet Movies" when he both produced and participated in many blockbuster films. He was behind a series of works such as Em va Michael (1994), Khi dan ong co bau (2005), De ma hu (2005), Ao lua Ha Dong (2006), Huyen thuy bat tu (2009) and Hello co Ba (2012). Notably, Ao lua Ha Dong was not only a commercial success but also won the "Audience Choice" award at the Busan International Film Festival (Korea), marking a milestone when Phuoc Sang Film Studio became the first private Vietnamese unit to receive an award at an international film festival.
Once at the peak of his fame, Phuoc Sang is now battling an illness that makes everyone feel sorry. After his recent coma, although doctors were able to save him from the critical stage, medical experts also shared that no one could have predicted what would happen. Many artists, after hearing the bad news, immediately went to the hospital to visit Phuoc Sang. The actor's health is still very weak but he still recognizes his colleagues.
