At the age of 13, Vinh Khang took the rigorous Cao Cao entrance exam and became a student in the Physics Department of Xiangtan University with very high scores. At the age of 17, he was specially accepted by the Center for High Energy Physics of the National Academy of Sciences to study the master's and doctoral course. Chinese media gave Yongkang the rare nickname "Oriental prodigy".

At Wei Yongkang's house, the walls are filled with mathematical formulas, English vocabulary... to help him easily remember and learn at all times. Thanks to this special educational method, he continuously won major prizes, becoming the "human" example millions of Chinese parents dream of.

After four years of college, Wei Yongkang graduated with a second-best overall score and was accepted into the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he studied for both his master's and doctorate. After the shock, Wei Yongkang returned home. His mother gradually realized she had made a mistake in the way she educated her son and began teaching him to do housework and take care of himself. He also retired, began to live like a normal person, found a job with a stable salary and got married and had children in 2010.
